Could FoMoCo go Private?

Very interesting option. I did not know it would be possible for such a large corporation to simply go private...but maybe removing Wall Street and investors eyes from the books would buy Ford some time to turn it around....?

The question is do they have the cash to do that if they decide that is best?

Agreed. That's a lot of stock to buy up.

The article said $13.6 Billion and according to Evok FMC needs around $17 billion to run day to day operations and keep programs running as they are now. They likely only have around $20-25 Billion in the bank. I don't think they can do this now, or anytime in the near future. Maybe that is why Bill Ford called Goshen about? Pull in a partner who is good at cost cutting/union busting while you limp along until you are more stable. It would likely give Nissan access to Ford's truck resources and plants, something I am sure that Nissan would need in order to expand US marketshare.
