Has this been discussed yet here? I searched but couldn't find anything. Is this not the most ridiculous idea ever? Especially considering they already have the CTS, which I thought was basically supposed to be just that.

Fellas, we are talking wiki here.

 

I don't know if they literally meant a stretched 4 door Corvette. I think it is more of a lets build the Corvette of sedans. Or maybe even a Sedan on the Y-body, but not a stretched Corvette.

 

I thought I read somewhere they couldn't build a sedan on the Y platform?

 

they tried this once before and built a sedan and a wagon prototype and then junked the idea because it was a bad idea im sure this is another one of those things just a thought.

Make a 4 door performance car, just don't call it a vette.

 

well the doors wouldnt be that long. Id say cut out a foot in the middle to get it closer to what i would think itd be

Damn right it would be, if that is the case, make it front wheel drive and wimpy 4 cyl powered while they are at it....

 

Here is why the analogy between a Porsche Sedan and Corvette Sedan: Porche is a car company, Corvette is a model. While Chevy could (and maybe should) make a sedan with a 'vette drivetrain and engineering, it can't be a Corvette.

 

Some folks seem to be forgetting that the SS concept essentially had Corvette underpinnings.
