Considering a Charger for daily duties
Considering a Charger for daily duties
I checked the site, built one, checked local dealers online to see if they're scalping (nope).. Seems like a heck of a deal! $29k for 340hp/390tq, RWD, leather, plenty of gadgets & gizmos, 4 doors (I have a toddler), and the styling is pretty cool to me.
Upon further reading - It's from a Germerican company, engine made in Mexico, transmission made in US, and final assembly in Canada!
Is this really an American car I'm considering?

I don't know, me and my sister have been looking at used Grand Am GTs and we have been to Dodge dealerships. I saw a couple up close and it just doesn't look right. But yea, otherwise, it's a nice car. Except for that whole name thing..

Hey I just drove one of these today at work. I would highly recommend it! It's a really sweet car, handles good, has good power, looks cool, and has plenty of space. It would make an awesome daily driver. I was extremely impressed by it.

Yeah, it's quite the internanional car. Looks like it'll remain the front runner regardless, but man are things getting blurred these days.
I know my Z was made in the land of Crown Royal, but GM isn't owned by the Germans on top of that.
Kevin, this is exactly why I came to this forum - all the America vs 'them' stuff that went on here.

Bull crap they are American cars. Designed and built in North America. Just because the parent company is off shore that does not make the US branch forigen. GM also builds cars in Korea and China. Do you think they regard these cars as American?
Re: Considering a Charger for daily duties
I have to admit that the Charger is more impressive looking in person than in pictures.... after seeing a few, I may have swung my opinion from "awkward looking" to "aggressive looking".
Still not sure about the C-pillar area though....

BTW this point was only brought up to show how funny an earlier argument was made about American flags on foreign cars.
