Exclamation Commodore based AWD sedan here?

This just in from a friend at Holden: GMNA is looking at the possibility of bringing or producing an AWD sedan here. Nothing specific yet as to who, what, or even when.

Just wanted to post that it is being considered. Wanted to let everyone know before it ends up in the car mags.

What the SSX? Or a standard Commodore with AWD?

Maybe GM will bring it here as the G8 or G6 that was around.. the G8 had the LS1 i believe.. and it was considered very good by all estimations so maybe this would be easier and quicker (read cheaper) than building the concept.. i dunno

Let's put aside the SSX concept, and consider the current Ute and the 2003 Cross8. AWD drive would make alot of sense in an El Camino type vehicle, although the sales impact wouldn't be that great. However, with the Commodore-based, crew cab Cross8 pickup, AWD would be de rigeur. If the Subaru Baja sells, why wouldn't a V8 powered crossover?

My prediction: a Cross8 type vehicle would do better in the U.S.A. than either the Ute or the upcoming GTO.

Just to throw some more wood on the fire check out this pic,

Notice anything strange about it? It looks like an SSX in the clay model stage with many of the lines from halfway back not drawn on yet. Still not noticed the problem? maybe you should look at where the steering wheel is . I dunno about you guys but i found that interesting. Taken from here.

cant it just be a concept for the Middle Eastern markets?
we know Holden is exported to Brazil and ME, so it oculd just be a concept for their production.. i dunno maybe... but cool pic though.

Uh....isn't that the same place the SS concept's fuel filler door is?

Doesn't know, just that GMNA is interested.
