If the non supercharged Cobalt's performance and power output is closer to that of the type S then I suppose you could say so... yes. But then again that's the Cobalts only real advantage over the RSX, so then if you did that, your only final advantage would be price.

Price is a big enough point that for most people it WILL make the decision.

Re: Cobalt SS comparo in Road and Track

Its a little to early to start discounting the Cobalt SS's resale . Right now it is a EXTEMELY desireable car ... the dealer I bought mine at is selling everyone they get within a week and that includes the NON=discount 06's . It also seems to be a very popular car with the crowd GM was aiming it at . First night out on cruz night with it , I was flat out amazed just how many people drooled , more so than I think I ever got in trans am . I think it will hold its value better than average . The Acura RSX , I think , is a COOL , very refined , well made car ( I mean it is a part of a luxury division ) , but I will take the performance of the SS over it any day and still get at least 85% of the refinement and 97% of the handling , and once B&M's ripper shifter is out I will have a gearbox that shifts and feels better than , as I happen to love the stock SAAB 5 speed trans and clutch ...both of which are happily taking alot of abuse .

Dont mean to sound like a fanboy here , but I like my SS more and more everyday I drive . And given GM's past with this type of car , ya just stop and think sometimes "I cant believe chevy built this car "
