CNN talking about the Mustang, GTO and Charger

No usefull infromation in the site. But the guy writting it isnt a car guy, so its intresting to see what the average joe has to say about these three cars.

The other problem is that, particularly when equipped with a manual transmission, this car does not like to be driven slowly

They also have a little Camaro blurb in there if you click on the "Modern Muscle Car Gallery"

Good find Evilfrog,
Probably the most positive (read:neutral) CNN sports car article I've read in a while; from the way the article reads, it almost seemed like the guy enjoyed writing it.

Re: CNN talking about the Mustang, GTO and Charger
Hmmm he calls the Charger a large sedan. But DCX told me it was a coupe with 4 doors?
Quote of the year.
Weak point: Big sedans just aren't as fun as smaller, lighter coupes.

"Now they're coming back with more powerful and more efficient engines and safer, better handling cars."
Wow, a good remark regarding the return of the muscle cars coming from CNN!
If anything I would've imagined them saying something to the effect of "gas-guzzling", "ancient tech", or "extremely unsafe". Holy cow, an un-biased CNN reporter....

Dodge Charger
Selling point: A big sedan with chest-thumping power
Weak point: Big sedans just aren't as fun as smaller, lighter coupes.
Price: About $29,000 for Charger R/T
Wrong. Base MSRP for Charger R/T is $29,995.

Re: CNN talking about the Mustang, GTO and Charger
The GTO's once-dull looks have been helped by hood scoops and a few other add-ons. At least now it looks less like the old Grand Am and a little more like a muscle car.
Re: CNN talking about the Mustang, GTO and Charger
mustang:
gto:
PLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSEEE
Strong point: Style and performance at a bargain price
Weak point: Rock-hard, cheap interior stuff
Price: About $31,000 for the Mustang GT Premium

2005 Pontiac GTO
Strong point: Power, power, more power
Weak point: Price, day-to-day drivability
Price: About $33,000
The GTO is really fun to drive. There are only two things holding this car back: the relatively high sticker price of its sole trim level

A car like the grand am with a big engine (350ci or larger) WOULD 100 percent fit the classical definition of a muscle car.

Everything udnerneath those body panels is completely different from a grand am.
I do agree with that from a looks point of view though.
I think the dodge charger did a better job than the GTO at looking like other models in the lineup.
I didn't realize the chrysler dealership by my house had chargers in till yesterday night when I walked by and got a close look.
Those chargers have probably been there for a couple weeks.
I thought they were all 300C's.
Seriously, the charger, (when I realized it was one) is realllllly a big dissapointment now that I've seen it in person.
