Chrysler gets Charger hate mail.
From Auto News:
The Chrysler group's revival of the Charger name on a Dodge sedan is generating "hate mail," says a senior executive. Production of the 2006 model starts in January, but correspondence is voluminous opposing the name on a four-door, says Trevor Creed, Chrysler senior vice president of design.

As if they couldn't see that one coming...
Just call the damn thing Magnum...why does the wagon and the four door need a different name? Call the coupe the Charger if you want...leave the sedan alone...

Why call it Charger at all?
I would like to see the Chevy Zeta cars just all be called Chevelle. Have a 4dr Chevelle sedan, 2dr Chevelle coupe, and a 5dr Chevelle wagon.

Call it a MAGNUM sedan because THAT'S WHAT IT IS.

Or a Dodge 300 :P Cause it's that too.
Polara? Monaco? What other Dodge Sedans were there? And I'd say it'd be unwise to give it a Plymouth nameplate... cause then we all know where they'd try to go.
I agree. A Magnum sedan. That's what it is.

So, putting the name on a sedan which will have at least an available V8 engine, is not that bad, IMO.
