Chicago.
It simply doesn't get any better than Peter Cetera singing 'If You Leave Me Now"....Oh wait, wrong Chicago.
Allow me to declare that the worst joke I've ever attempted.
Seriously, Unless I'm missing something, was there not any 'big' news/pictures of any sort regarding Chevy, or will that be next weekend?
And on a completely related note, I was so impressed with the Colorado/Canyon that I bought a Ranger on Saturday.

I think the surprise was the whole SS family of cars (or should I say trucks), maybe the 50th vette (big letdown in my opinion), maybe the RWD '07 announcement just now (about f***ing time, in my opinion) . Any and/or all of those.
I agree that none of those things and indeed nothing lately has made a striking impression on all of us on here since we keep up with sites like this one with news hot off the presses and we know about it ahead of time, but I'd say that 99% of everyone else out there who doesn't read this site had at least something brand new they were meant to look forward to.
I dunno. Pretty dull news, considering all the pre-hype.

And Kizz, I know what you mean, sometimes, knowing too much too early can mean 'let down-a-brewin.' Did that make any sense?

What are you guys talking about?? How could you say that when the incredible Impala and MC SS's were there?! *Doh*
I think the "attraction" was really RWD and V8 coming back in 06/07. Because nothing really spectacular was there, more unimpressiveness. When they say there is gonna be really great stuff, don't expect much, for now anyway.

Allow me to throw two quotes out here to express what I feel.
1. From Dan Akroyd in Ghostbusters: "I've worked in the private sector. They expect results."
Well, if I'm a customer, I haven't gotten any results.
2. "Expect nothing and you'll seldom be disappointed."
I heard that line on here from someone (Can't remember who
) and this has really been the way I've felt about recent events.
I don't want to bash GM, but I they're earning it.
I hope they realize that when they look at their Colorado sales and say, "This isn't right, we're exactly one unit short."

Call me shallow, but looks mean a lot to me. And the design of the Colorado doesn't really float my boat.
Mechanically it's probably incredible.

I really like the Colorado from what I've seen in pictures... I think it is a big step up from S-10 (And I owned a ZR-2).
I feel bad for Captian Jeff though, I know you are in this market right now and were hoping for something you'd like.

I agree that the Colorado is a step up from the S10, but the main problem is the styling. It's far to complex and misproportioned. Allow me to explain what I mean by misproportioned.
If you look at a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 from the side, the wheels/tires look large and aggressive, and it looks 'lifted' like a ZR2 does. Now if you were to compare the same Tacoma with a 'regular' S10 4X4 (non ZR2), the S10 will look sadly lower and only slightly taller than a two wheel drive. This is the problem with the Colorado, in my eyes. It does not look proud and tall like the ZR2's do.
Now, all 4x4 Tacomas look proportioned correctly, however they are far too expensive and do not offer a 3rd or 4th door.
Dakotas for the most part look proportioned correctly, however you'll see the odd one with tiny wheels that just looks way too funny, and I'm not nuts about the styling anyways so they're out.
Regular S10's, good price, but they aren't ZR2's.
ZR2's look the part, however, by the time you've added the ZR2 option, you're in Tacoma price tag land. Plus, I've recently grown sour on the S10, with the amount of repairs I had to make on the one I just traded in.
Lastly, Ford. Has all the visual benefits of the Tacoma, with a more impressive price tag and 3rd and 4th doors.
Thanks for feelin' for me. I get so sad sometimes.

I have seen pics of the Colorado Z71, though, and it looks to be a similar package... I have yet to see one in person, though...
