So far we have seen quite a few concepts showing Chevy's new face. The next Malibu has been spotted wearing it, as has the Malibu Cross Country concept, Cobalt SS Widebody, and the Euro Ultra Rally car concept (I forgot the name). And here it is on an SUV now. I predict the next Equinox will have a face very similar to this.

So what else do you think we will be seeing this new face on.

 

I think the New Cobalt is kinda hot. Not digging the front grille,but I like it.

Some of it is kind of futuristic, but i see where they are going with it. Not bad.

 

It's interesting to see how much the SS Concept has had on the front of these new cars. I for one like it, but I can't wait to see the new Impy.

 

I think the word "meh" about sums it up. It's not particularly ugly, and it's an improvement on the chrome spear, but it sure isn't anything special either.

I suppose there's only so many unique faces you can make from a car's front end, as shown by the number of brands that overlap each other such as Pontiac/BMW and Acura/Mazda. So we can give Chevy points for being unique, but not for being attractive.

BTW, I'm guessing there's no way to put this face on a retro car like the Camaro.

 

I for one am sick of the dividing spear. Jeez, come up with something new.
I think the Camaro nails it. A simple grill with the company logo. Or create something new and original. The spear is played out, and IMO, never looked good to begin with (save for the trucks as they look good with it.)

 

I could not agree more. The "spear" limits creative design IMO. It should be used for trucks only.

Having said that, the above designs look OK without being spectacular.

 

Dont forget its up on the upcoming, refreshed Aveo hatch too.

 

I doubt the "spear" will be leaving anytime soon.... How long have pontiac grills been the same... '92?

 

I thought that was getting the chrome Euro Chevy grill, like they are using now overseas on all the Daewoos.

 

this was a pic of the Equinoix Hybrid... which I assume will either be a future look of the next Equinox refresh, or the Equinox SS, which has the similar new Chevy face.

 

I kind of like it, but I think it looks a lot like the Acura grille overall - not in fine detail, but general shape.

 

I like it. Its a much more deliberate appearing design.

 

The chrome spear should be relegated to trucks or the junkyard. Take your pick. Why the heck does every Chevy have to resemble the others? That is so . . . simplistic. The bowtie says it all, let the designers go play with some new stuff.

I like the looks of the Ultra WTCC, but I don't like the Cobalt widebody very much.
