Why is it severely disappointing?

The Cmax is a hybrid. The Cruze Eco is more aerodynamic and comes with a six speed. (The Spark only has a 5-speed). Besides the Spark is meant more to be an urban car, and its "City" numbers are better than the Cruze Eco. Perhaps the Spark needs a smaller 1.0L turbo 4 and a 6-speed, but then that would increase its cost, which would be counter productive. Its supposed to be cheap transportation, isn't it?

C-max is much larger and costs twice as much.

Let me get my GEO Metro XFI back..........
No A/C no radio no glove box door,
head lights----check!
Wipers.....check, two speeds.........too fast and too slow
57 mpg...check!
cardboard interior door panels, with custom embossed square paper pattern...check
Navi system was a folded paper thing from state's rest areas called MAP MAP--never failed!

I loved that car, 300,000 miles on it and still sold it for $700!

When gasoline first spiked above $4 per gallon here on the west coast two years ago, well-used Metros were selling for on average just north of $5000.

It had so much potential as a concept. The production version simply falls short on looks. Chevrolet needs a car like this. Unfortunately this one just doesn't cut it.

Its been selling like hotcakes around the rest of the world for the last 3 years so...

Here's a pic of the first one I've seen when I visited China in Apr. 2011. I'm pretty sure the orange one is the previous generation.

Yea I was just about to comment that in North Africa they're selling like hot cakes. My family called in Morocco asking for my GM discount on that car, and I was like uhhhhhh really?

It looks better without the roof rack IMHO.
