Chevrolets Logic

We all know why they got rid of the Camaro. Yet they're bringing out a whole new line of SS cars and there is no Camaro in it. There is the SS Concept which should really be a brand new Camaro goin back to the old school 1st gen Style for the 5th gen. They have a couple 240hp yawn vehicles. Then the SSR. I mean what are they thinking? You can't honestly say that if they brought out the Camaro like I saw in that Motor Trend way back when where it looks like a 1st gen would not sell way more then the 4th gen vehicles. I'm sick and tired of seeing these people on the streets who think their frickin' new Volkswagen is the god of all cars. I want to see a new Camaro that 1. Kills Mustangs and 2. Is not restricted to stay below the Corvette in power 3. Kills all family cars/minivans/luxury cars/etc. etc.
Why is Chevy doin' this to us? I just don't understand it.

"As I look down the road at various product offerings -- 2004 to 2008....I think you will be pleased. Performance is NOT dead at General Motors....not by a long shot. For those of you "doubting Thomases"......let me remind you that we all thought performance was dead in 1974.....boy, were we wrong..........." -RP

A few years ago did you think (or dream) there would be a CTS-V with 400hp ??

Have faith...

Volkswagen owners thinking their car is the god of all cars?

A car that not only "kills" Mustangs, but "kills" all family cars, minivans, luxury cars, etc. etc....?

Took a few too many agression pills today, did we?

Bah! Kid's play. I'm anxiously awaiting the debut of the Aveo SS. Supercharged 3 cylinder baby!

That POS makes me wonder what the heads at Chevy are smoking. The Aveo will do wonders for Chevy's tarnished brand luster

What kills me is, it seems Pontiac has it all over Chevy these days. The Vibe is a great small car, the new GP is a far more impressive looking car than the Impala/Monte, there will be a new Grand Am next spring way better looking than the ho-hum Malibu, then you have the GTO and Bonnie V8s...not to mention the Solstice within what, 2 years?

Unless Chevy gets RWD MC and Impy SSs and a new Camaro, Pontiac is the division to watch...

LOL! I couldn't stop laughing from the way you put that. Lol. I'll explain this a little better.
1. I was using owners of some vehicles as an example. For example a guy just got a GTI. So he races all over town cutting in and out of traffic thinkin his car rules. I'm talkin' about people like that.

2. I'd like to see a Z28 Camaro that has much better handling, and much more power. A true Z28 would take out 90% of the cars on the road. An SS should be way more advanced than the Z28. A rare edition of the Camaro like an SS-R Camaro would make people get into the new Camaro craze when that day comes again. I DO NOT want to see the next Camaro become a hatchback or a family car. If that happens I will never buy a new car for the rest of my life. In fact I will only buy cars that aren't made anymore such as a DeLoreon.

The Z28 should be the lower production top model M*stang competitor, like an all-out performance car. If the SS must be included it should be the car that is mostly produced and has the luxuries that alot want.

Have you ever had someone tell you they own a '83 Vette? History buffs out there remember that there was no '83 vette. Chevy's story.....the Vette was finnished. Hmmm.... I feel there is a distinct trend.
Something else to consider, Compare the '82 vette to what is out today. '82 doesn't look to great. In my opinion Chevy will outdo themselves in years to come.

1. I get tired of punk kids cutting in and out of traffic like they own the road---regardless of what they're driving!!

2. Don't look now, but the Camaro has been a hatchback for a couple decades.

I like radical statements like, "I'll never buy another new car again...only a DeLoreon." It helps add credibility to what is an otherwise useful, "Camaro should rule the world!" thread.

Yes, VWs do seem popular right now.

That's not true.

There was no saleable 1983 Corvette, but there was supposed to be.

The C4 was delayed because of some quality issues. When the C4 was ready for launch, it met 1984 Federal Standards, so it was released as a 1984 model.

Also, saying the 82 looks bad is a matter of opinion. In fact, I think the 80-82 Corvette look would actually look pretty fresh even today... Just my opinion though.

When the C4 (the car, not the explosive) came out, I remember it being a head turner.

Agreed.

C4 was so different from anything else out there!! It was just awesome!

So futuristic for it's time. Yet still easily a Corvette!
