Does it not require premium gas?

The performance figures for this, the most powerful Golf TDI ever, are convincing across the board: It achieves a maximum speed of 220 km/h (136 mph) and accelerates from stationary to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 8.2 seconds; and all this with a consumption of only 5.9 l/100 km (47.9 mpg) diesel.
Did you all catch this...not bad for a small stock engine.

Hey buddy that is the TDI, diesel, they are not exactly sitting on the lots. Also resale on the used ones is insane, that said I would LOVE to have one right now.

Reliabilty, this is the New Millineum, not 1982...
Easily upgraded, good mileage, decent power, light-weight package
Should do well, but to small for me

Hmmmmm......where did I hear that before? was about 1980ish to 1985ish or so, just about every rag on the planet and my shop teacher too.

I can hear those words echoing right now

"Boys the future is 100 cid turbo fours and cars made out of plastic and cardboard."

He used to say that with alot of enthusiasm while talking about the ultimate demise of the V8 along with deproliferation of parts within a car company, thinking it was great that one day you could get a waterpump or fender for your cadillac from the chevy dealer.

man I'm glad he was half wrong.

Boy, he nailed that one right on the head didn't he? Better go tell Ferrari their 6 figure supercars aren't lining up with the image of the future.

The only VW's now that do not require premium are the 2.5 5 Cyl and 2.0 n/a in the golf. I would venture to guess this engine would require premium.
