Charger vs. SS Concept?
Been reading a bit lately about some of the hype WRT the new (4 dr.) Dodge (Hemi) Charger... interesting that DC is looking at this particular niche in the marketplace... especially given the "tuner" influence and the general acceptance of a 4 dr. performance car by the youth market. Good for DC for recognizing that a performance car does not necessarily have to be a 2 dr.! (I'm somewhat biased - I used to own a Taurus SHO!) - running fast and ducking low!
DC has already been rewarded for their efforts in the performance/near luxury class on the 300C. I suspect the Charger will be a bit downmarket from the 300C (and 300C SRT-8) flagship, but (I'm guessing) will be scooped up bigtime by the performance/usefullness-without-luxury market.
I'm wondering if Chevy might think it a good idea to consider offering a bit of competition here for DC by offering something that they could probably bring into production relatively quickly... it's already there and it's called the SS Concept vehicle (4 dr.) http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-200...SS-Concept.htm
One of the reasons I bring this up is that I was completely blown away by this vehicle when I saw it in person at last year's Toronto Auto Show. It's a total home run and if it was offered, I'd be all over it - especially if GM could find a way to offer it with a stick
BTW, the SS Concept is NOT meant as a Camaro replacement - but it sure would be a wonderful compliment to a new GM 2 dr. RWD V8 popular-priced performance coupe!
Food for thought...
Best regardSS,
Elie

Re: Charger vs. SS Concept?
I like the idea of some 4 door COUPES being fast and powerful like the Charger R/T concept from '99 and the SS concept, but doesn't it make anyone else sick that the next BMW M5 SEDAN is going to have a 500 horsepower V-10? I mean seriously... it's a big bricky sedan that will be able to toast a Corvette... not to mention both of my Camaros...that's just wrong.

Re: Charger vs. SS Concept?
Anybody else think the Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 resembles the Chevy SS Concept from a side profile shot?
Chevy SS
Mercedes-Benz CLS 500
EDIT: Basically the roofline, the windows, mirrors and the way the top of the trunk trails off. From the windows down they look completely opposite, but from the windows up, just my opinion .

Re: Charger vs. SS Concept?
there's no ****ing b-pillar... behind the driver's seat... no support for the roof.. its way too long of a roof for that to be a very sturdy car... i bet w/ a little of beating or some power added to it the car would twist all over the place....
other than that, the fender flares look like the RX8's, too much glass on the car IMO, and whats up w/ the exhaust.... thats not pretty.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the "SS", What is the length measurement and that thing, you could land a fighter jet on it.
