It looks like the "Daimler" part of DaimlerChrysler is the part that will suck all the money out of Chrysler and its future product developement if they can't turn Mercedes around quickly.

Ummm... Is the registration of a trademark really a sign that they're going to build it?

So where does the "two-door" and "coming soon" part come in?

I think that would make up for most Charger mistakes.

My thinking as well.

This is the same company that was claiming "there are no market for 2 door coupes" not too long ago. The same company that put a well-respected coupe name on a sedan. The same company that put the "daytona" designation and wing on a freaken Ram truck.

I'm not saying that it won't happen, but i'm not exactly convinced either. Although, after the magnum wagon, charger and 300 sedans, a coupe is the only thing left. Unless they go really crazy and put it on some wild Lx-based cross-over or something crazy of that sort, a coupe would be the only other logical choice. But you never know.

And a 2 door is nice, but to me, that still doesn't make up for the lack of manual option. Slushbox's are nice and have their place in the market, but a manual option is a MUST in a performance car imo. To this day, you CANNOT get a Hemi with a manual. I really hope they do something about that.

26k msrp for 5.7L Hemi version, 2 door coupe body, better looks than charger, 3500lb weight (or less), manual tranny (preferably 6spd, but 5spd fine), and available 6.1L Hemi on the SRT-8 version. Price is cheaper than the 4 door sedan models across the whole board. This is the making of a really good 5th gen and Mustang fighter. One i'd gladly crossshop with the two and perhaps even buy if it is to my liking down the line.

Fixed that for ya

Yep....was talking with my old man the other day about how there is a lack of RWD, manual trans cars available here, at least those with 4 doors and a little bit of cargo space...I would own a Magnum if it they offered a 6spd.

I'll believe the Challenger when I see something more substantial...DCX isn't the only company that has a revered nameplate trademarked...

Re: from Charger forum:Dodge Challenger (two-door coming soon)

I see a trademark registration that means nothing. GM has Nova, Chevelle, G5, and serengedi trademarked. I don't see a new Nova coming out soon. Remember car companies also licencsed alot of stuff for t-shirts, posters, etc. Protecting their car names doesn't mean that car is going to be produced.

FWIW: last time I looked the name Lucerne by GM was a dead trademark. Interesting.

Were is the reference to 2 door and coming soon?

Internet rumours suck.
