Challenger twin?

Now that the Challenger in on the way will it spawn a twin. Will we finally get a 300C coupe. It seems like a no brainer. I thought the 300C chop's looked really good. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Re: Challenger twin?

It is certainly possible. People have also been asking for a covertible LX car as long as they have been around.

Re: Challenger twin?

I'd buy a 300 coupe over a Challenger myself.

ASC did a convertible version of the 300 already, but Chrysler turned it down, for reasons I am unaware of. It would have been the only 4 door convertible on the market that I am aware of.

Not planned as of yet (or at least to the point that development work is being done), but it could be done very quickly.

Re: Challenger twin?

I had the impression if Challenger got a twin it would be a Chrysler retro Cuda just based on the illustrations by Thom Taylor. I assumed because they were in the Hotrod great comeback issue he was a Chrysler engineer.

Re: Challenger twin?

Cant imagine they would do two identical retro cars. One retro and one modern makes infinetly more sense.

Re: Challenger twin?

The Challenger/300c Coupe makes perfect sence. The Challenger really isnt a Mustang. Its a higher dollar small production halo car. More like a vette with 4seats.

You could then sell 300C coupes as a kind of BMW 6 series fighter. Not everyone wants a in your face styled car. You could then sell a twin to a differnt type of buyer.

Even though Plymouth is dead, a Plum Purple 6.4 or 6.6 SRT would be insane.

Re: Challenger twin?

Chrysler has been trying to build a case for a car like the Challenger since at least 2003, and if you include the almost produced Dodge Venom, you can trace it back alot longer. Like the prospect of the Firebird, Chrysler isn't going to compete with themself, but like Pontiac knows they need a coupe that's very different than what the other division is offering.

Chrysler is still looking at the Firepower, and is due to make a decision on it soon. A 300C coupe IS possible, and as mentioned, is relatively easy to do.

But just offering an opinion based on what little bit I do know about Chrysler, Chrysler won't make a coupe that's just a 2 door 300, and most certainly won't make a decorated Challenger with a Chrysler nameplate.

Maybe they could make a 2 door Charger! Oh I just had to say it, I actually like the Charger. Took me a while to warm up to it, but I think it looks good now. I don't even care about the number of doors anymore. Now back on topic:

Wouldnt it though? That is a cool color too. I suppose it could be an option on the Charger though...

who is suggesting Chrysler make a decorated Challenger? I was thinking shorter, closer to Mustang and Camaro to be a true Pony car in Cuda skin. The difference would be in the size, as GTO to Camaro.

It would be nice if the had made the Challenger smaller, more Camaro or Mustang size, then they could have easily made a 300 coupe since it would have been a large vehical.
