Caprice wins 'Car of the Year' in Saudi
If it was brought here, it would be mocked that it doesnt fit the land barge image that the Caprice stood for on top of that the 300C is a better buy. It would be bashed for its dull styling and over weight body. Not to mention that the gas tank would be in the trunk, so you lose the ability to have a large trunk for such a large car.

The gas tank issue would not be a problem with the long wheel base V-bodies as its behind the rear-axle. It would therefore not need the trunk fix that the Monaro had.
"Gas tank", "Trunk"...damn I'm starting to use Yank words...I spend to much time here!
So its "petrol tank" and "boot" also the new scoops on the '05 GTO are going on the "bonnet" not the "hood".
Chevrolet needs this car. Now.
This car with a sporty model or two would be really good. It would also let Chevy take back the full-size V8 RWD market again.

It's not enough to merely come to the party anymore....you need to come and be the life of the party.
Chevy's been talking about "GOTTA HAVE" products.....bring the current Caprice over now....and it'll be a "MIGHT CONSIDER" product.
Chevy not only deserves...but NEEDS better today.
The Caprice could probably out pace the 300C in performance, but the 300's Bently styling might have it over the Caprice. But if the interior is anything like the Monaro, I think the Caprice would be the life of the party...especialy with a LS2 and 6sp
edit: and here is why...
take that 300 fans

edit: and here is why...
The luxuries that are standard in the Royale are too numerous to list in their entirety. They include rear stereo controls, rear twin screen DVD player, 12 speaker stereo system, Blaupunkt in-dash 6-disc CD player with digital sound processing, rear headphones and rear air-conditioning to name but a few. They all add up to a complete package that reinforces the Caprice tradition of providing generous levels of features and refinement, qualities that obviously helped set it apart from the competition in this award

I am not surprized at the Caprice winning the Car of the Year over there. For years they have loved the Caprice, even in the B-Body form it was very popular over there. Its funny how alot of people hate America or anything American over there in the Middle East, but they love Chevrolet Caprice.
This Caprice, mildly made over for 2005 looks striking IMO. I would take the Caprice SS over the 300C anyday.
Shame on you GM for not making a Caprice over here, there is a market for the car, if properly executed. Same goes for the Camaro.

Not so fast. The Chevy Caprice by Holden isn't exactly a Chevy priced vehicle. At today's exchange rate:
The Holden Caprice's price is $53,359.86. Yes, that's US dollars.
($73,690.00 in Australian money).
The Holden Statesman V6 or a supercharged Calais V6 is about $36,900
(about $51,000 Australian)
The LS1 powered Commodore SV8 is a more Chevy-like $30,408.
($41,000 in Aussie dollars)
The base Commodore costs about $23,000.
($37,900 Australian)
If you want an El Camino, you're in luck if GM brings it over. It starts at $26,000AUD (that's just $18,800 of our US dollars). The SS version is $29,000. You can also get the LS1 & stick in a cheaper model.
The Storm (http://www.users.on.net/~nweber/comm...ute.html#storm) is just $23,000 of our dollars.
Finally, for those of you who still have issues about the GTO's $32,000 "no-option but 6 speed manual" price, the Holden Monaro currently costs in Australian money right at $60,000. That's $43,460 in US cash!.
Stop complaining.
