Camaro styling poll
Well the idea of a 3 or 4 door Camaro (no matter how small the doors are) just doesn't seem right at all. An upright, sedan-like Camaro brings images of something too long and too stodgy to look lean, mean and sporty. Guess that leaves me with low slung and aggressive!

If the next Camaro shares architecture with the next gen GTO.....I hope the Camaro doesn't come out looking too sedan like. IMO it needs to be lower and more agressive than GTO.
Either do choice #1 or nothing at all IMO. My biggest fear with the 5th-gen is that GM would water it down into a boring transportation appliance so that everyone would like it
Camaro has never ever been a car for "everyone". If you want a sporty coupe with room for the kids, get an Ion. If you want a big comfy coupe, get a Monte Carlo. If you want low slung and aggressive neck snapping performance vehicle, get a Camaro

Voted for low and aggressive, but unfortunately I got a feelin its coming with 4 door.
I just dont think that GM will invest in another "working mans vette". Something will have to set it apart. (Besides two backs seats you can hardly use.)

They need to make it low and aggressive, but not so much that it is a major compromise to own one when compared to a normal "upright" car. Somewhere in between the 4th gen camaro and the current Mustang would be about perfect for me.
But for the record, if I had to choose between the 4th Gen Fbody and the Current Mustang and both cars had the same powertrain, I'd go with the Mustang.
PS:
Please, keep the hatchback, even if you make it look like it has a conventional trunk.

Getting back to an "upright" car for a minute.......
I think GM product planners are in sometype of Mustang shell shock right now. The last few years, Mustang has so completely eaten the F-car for lunch in sales...that I think that GM is very tempted to bring out a Chevy Mustang, so to speak.
It's as if they are in total denial on all the 4th gens shortcommings and feel that "only if" it was more upright...their sales problems would be over.
I really disagree with this premise. I say, look elsewhere to fix the F-car. I don't want to see it become a 2 door sedan.
The irony of it all is....the Mustang concept looked like a low agressive coupe to me.
Stop chasing the last Mustang.

To make it more 1st Gen-like or more M*stang-like would be going backwards. The low/aggressive look is what the Camaro has had since the 2nd, Third, and 4th Gens. It gave the car some of its real character and is known for it. Every redone 1st Gen I see has bigger rims like TT2's, wide lower profile tires, and is lowered giving it a stance more like the other Gens. (it makes them look alot better also) It needs to stay as it's been, people will just go and try to do it themselves and give it that look if they don't. I know a few dudes with M*stangs and they feel they are too upright, lowering is the 1st thing on their lists because of it.

Lowering it just makes the whole car lower. In the case of the Mustang, Ford sends most of them out into the world looking like they are set up for the baja 1000, so a lot of people lower them - but no matter how much they lower them the design will be more upright than the 4th Gen Camaro.

I think it looked that way because it was the concept. We know the production car will "closely" resemble the concept but, the production car's roofline has to be higher with the addition of back seats, making the car a bit more "upright" in appearance anyway.
