"The Ribbon"

Many years ago I did some research on what that emblem was called, for a project I was working on.

Just like the BMW emblem is called the "Roundel"....I thought it would be neat to find the name of the Camaro emblem.

The closest that I came was ....."The Ribbon".

Keep the good old Camaro emblem!

I like the fact that if I pull up next to a 1st gen that there is the exact same little emblem on the front of both our cars.

Thumbs up Logo

Yes the new car will need a logo! I also think they should modernize the old logo, as long as it doesn't look cheezzy!

Actually it was never on the first gen. Camaros. At least not as an exterior emblem. I think it started on the second gens.
Something similar to it was on the interior of the first gens. no color and slightly different.
I like the idea of keeping it though. It helps with identity.

Bring back a new car but the same old emblem. Emblem's do not need to be "modernized."

I disagree, I think the emblem should evolve similar to how the Corvette emblem has over the years. Just as long as it isn't cheap looking.

Another vote for the return of the Camaro logo. IMO I think it should be on the car in more than just one spot. Like I said in another thread long ago, maybe stitch it into the headrests and such.

Yeah I believe it started with the late 2nd gens, correct me if I'm wrong. I know on early 2nd gens there was a similar shaped logo but i had a large "C" in the top part and the word Camaro in the lower part where the bowtie now sits.

Now realize if it comes back in its traditional place on the nose.. it shoots that bow-tie and chrome bar we see on the front of every photoshop straight to hell

The Camaro needs that emblem. Like someone already said, its like the Stang without a horse.

I agree with the consensus here, the Camaro logo needs to be there!!

On a side note... the act of "shaving" the Camaro emblem off a car disgusts me.

I agree, and I also agree that it should evolve like the Corvette's has with every generation.

Maybe we should have a design contest, like we have been having with all of the 5th gen. artwork.

The original emblem needs to be on the nose of the car. You can evolve and retro everything else; however, a Camaro should have "the ribbon" in the center of the nose. Period.

Worst case scenario look at putting it inside the Chevy emblem on that god-awful SSR looking grill. But my vote goes for stand-alone in the center of the front clip. It can be off-center vertically only.
