Callaway C16

http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...cute=1&Count=1

The Chevrolet Corvette based C16 is the 16th vehicle to join Callaway’s build-to-order line. Features include a 6.0-liter supercharged V8 that puts down 616 hp making the C16 capable of getting to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and covering the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds. Suspension is revised with a coil-over shock setup. Outside Callaway replaces every exterior panel, yielding cleaner and more integrated lines. A well equipped C16 will retail around $127,000.

Pretty much everything wrong with that styling exercise. Oh well.

This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about when people say the Guigardo Mustang is a big hint at the 2010 production model.

Gee, maybe this is a preview of the C7?

I'm not a big fan of the styling cues in the rear, but I am too busy looking at that polished blower sitting under the hood.

Well said.

That's as far as it goes for me as well.

Ya know, when I first saw the Callaway Camaro, with it's grossly elongated and styled front end, and it's rear that reminded me of the old Porsche 928, and then saw the insane pricetag they were charging, I was very, very confused.

This one makes me feel that way again.

Looks like a C6 that was C5ived in terms of the smoothness of the lines.

I think it looks pretty sweet, except for the tacked on "c-pillar" in the rear hatch area. Even that looks cool from the rear, but dorky from the side.

$127k is stiff, but people pay nearly that for twin turbo LPE cars with stock bodywork (of course I truck LPE work more than Callaway, but anyway...).
