Right. They couldn't develop "dual duals" (styling only; the car has dual exhaust, tips would have been easy - and only a subjective improvement in styling; I like it how it is). The couldn't develop hood scoops (they'd be fake, so what's the point?). Nav system? Not a mandatory option by any stretch on a car like this. Geez. Again, are you even in high school yet?

*PONTIAC* decided not to use it in the GTO
A few other features they did not pick up..
Rear parking sensors, Keys that when you press unlock the seats and mirrors will change to your settings.

The previous poster to yours provided a link to the current Monaro options, and an electric sunroof is available. Maybe Pontiac decided against this option for now but since you're not ready to buy now, then that's not really a problem to you in the meantime.
The next-gen GTO would possibly have more options available for the picking...

1. Why does the GTO have dual exhausts, but looks like it only has a single? My guess is that GM was too cheap to redesign the rear bumper cover.

i'm sure the way things ended up being placed had to do with cost of developement and manufacturing. BUT, its not as trivial as you make it out to sound.

Yeah, but the features that are missing set a tone for the car. Who ever heard of a "BMW-competitor" without even the option of a sunroof? Where's the Stabilitrak? Where's the 18 inch rims?
It's clear that the dash wasn't designed to accomodate the LCD screen for a Nav system. The Aussies weren't prepared to offer a sunroof for the U.S. market and stability control isn't on the menu for any Holden. Then there are the tiny little wheelwells inherited from Opel circa 1993.
In terms of automotive development it all comes down to "how much money?" and "how modern?" The answers are "not much" and "not very."

The tailpipes along with resonators run along both sides of the tanks in these cars.

Pontiac decided against it for the GTO because it's out of character for what they envisioned as a high performance "drivers" car.
My friend, you are very, very quickly moving towards an "Assclown award".
In case you have never heard of this award or it's qualifications:

It stinks that it'll also make its appearance on the GTO but like uluz28 was saying, hardcore enthusiasts can get around it if they want to.
