Cadillac Still Going to Get Lambda-based Crossover
CHICAGO -- General Motors Co. is developing a next-generation Chevrolet Suburban and Cadillac Escalade. They and other full-sized SUVs will be on the road in about three years.
Just last summer, the future of those vehicles -- GM's big moneymakers when gasoline prices were low -- was in doubt. The automaker put development of those vehicles on hold as it dealt with Chapter 11 bankruptcy issues, the recession and potential buyers worried by unstable gasoline prices.
The models will continue to be on GM's rear-wheel-drive, full-sized truck platform rather than the Lambda large crossover platform, which GM reportedly had considered.

I agree. If GM wants to ruin Caddy then go all in. They need versions of colbalts and malibu's, that way they shut it down. Maybe they will be left with only one brand when it's all said and done.
The Lambda Caddy will be built on the next-generation Lambda. I don't see any problem with them doing this. A Cadillac buyer doesn't shop for a Buick or GMC. Every other automaker shares their platforms, GM has always done so in the past, why is cost sharing such a bad thing?
Aside from enthusiasts no1 knows nor do they care what platform their vehicle is built on.
This is the same Lambda that was going to replace the Escalade, they're not going to half-*** it...

So, very very not true.
I do.
Adn every other person I can think of that has or has recently had a Cadillac has also had a GMC or Buick recently.... the majority being GMC.
I know my real-life sampling is minute in the big picture, but I would all but guarantee this carries through down the line.

However with Buick & GMC's improvements I imagine it will be more common...but there are always going to be those who want the Caddy...
No Escalade? no SRX? How could they ever compete in the luxury division?
Having two SUV offerings is not the same as rebadging every SUV and crossover from every other division like they are dangerously close to doing.
Well since GM has stated that it plans for Cadillac to be competative with BMW & Mercedes.
This means a Crossover needs to be part of the package. However GM shouldn't allow Cadillac to have a version of the Cobalt/Cruze or the Malibu.
The V-series is good for Cadillac as it basically can act as a comparison to BMW's M series.
