I'm guessing the 550hp part didn't hurt

The CTS-V and the Viper SRT-10 have the same lap time?

Still makes no sense to me. Can't figure out why anyone would want a "performance Cadillac."

Going fast with luxury, class, and style doesn't appeal to you?

Same reason somebody would want a performance Lexus, BMW, Audi, or Benz... as in the -F, M, RS, and AMG lines that are oh so popular.

And the same reason people want performance Chevrolets or performance anything else. Because they like a car/brand and want a performance version of said car/brand.

So you can't see the point of a car that is fast as a Viper, yet is far more luxurious and comfortable, not to mention cheaper and has room for more than 2?

When I went to the car show this year the ONLY car that had me drooling the entire time was the CTS-V. Unmatched styling, superior speed, luxurious, and an undeniablely American pedigree.

It's a car I can go to the track in take it home swap the wheels out and take it on the town and look good doing it both places. If I had the money I'd buy a CTS-V without even thinking about it.

I have to admit I still don't see the point too much, you'd think alot of people going after a car of that brand aren't really performance minded people.

That would be Buick, caddy has done better at keeping the interest of younger people.

I'm 30. I've hit that odd part of my life where I still love speed don't think I ever won't BUT I've also come to enjoy an overall nicer vehicle than what a performance car is going to provide. Let's face it a Mustang,Camaro,Challenger,Charger,S2000,G8 etc...is never going to have the panache that a BMW,Mercedes, or Cadillac will have.

I'm too old for a pony car but too young for a Corvette
