Is it just me or has anyone else that's seen the real test pics of the C6 think it looks a bit weird? I'm not talking about the crap in the magazines either. I think it looks just like a short C5... only more sculpted and with fixed headlights.

Also, there aren't many additional features... just small improvements and stupid stuff like seat warmers. I was wondering if anyone in here has heard anything about the following...

***C6/Z06 pricing? It seems to me that they're building the new ones w/ a more stream-lined process... I'm thinking it should be at least the same price if not a bit cheaper than the C5s.

*** Weight? I read somewhere that the new Z06 will weigh approximately 2800lbs and have 500hp. Low 11s, anyone!? I'm figuring that the base C6 will be 2900lbs or so -- and it's supposed to have 400hp. It should run the same or a bit faster than the current Z06s... so low 12s and high 11s if you get that one freak car and you drive like there's no tomorrow.

 

I'm not all that excited to see the C6 after seeing some of the spy pics - it looks too much like a C5.

I like the C5 but c'mon - if they are going to call it all new, mabye it should look all new.

 

Marketing hyperbole aside, I don't think GM is calling it all-new. They've said very little about it publicly, but from what I have heard they are acknowledging its an evolution of the C5.

 

The current C5 is nothing but an automotive marvel...an amazing achievement. I think it's safe to say that the C6 will best the C5 in every category and have approximately the same price. That's pretty amazing when you think about it. If that's the case, I don't see any reason to be disappointed.

Well, then it shouldn't be called a C6 now should it?

I don't see that happening without the use of things like Carbon Fiber body parts, not to mention a lot more changes elsewhere.

Dropping 300-400lbs is no easy task.

 

A totally alum. chassis corvette could meet this weight reduction.

 

GM has said that the C6 will be an evolution of the C5 not a completely new car. IMO, that's just fine. Help keep the costs down whilst using the available development funds to give us a higher quality c5 with better fit, finish and materials, better fuel economy, more power and a little less weight. The only thing ths pisses me off is the fact that there won't be a hardtop in the current Z06 style. Instead the hardtop will look like a fixed roof version of the coupe which I think looks quite a bit less attractive the the Z06 style 'notch'.

 

The government is also hording all UFO pictures too, and letting only hoaxs be published. All the real UFO pictures are being tucked away in a secret Air Force bunker under Dollywood, in Tennessee.

 

I bet there are a few testmules for the new engines dressed up as normal C5's rolling around...

 

Or they're dressed up as XLR's. Using the C5 platform opens up mule options like these.
