Hmmm. Dave Hill was asked if the C6 will be a Viper killer, and he gave a rather vague answer. I wonder what kind of power the C6's will be putting out.

What is the C6 anyway, an 04 or an 05 model?

one part I found odd was "Don’t worry, a Z06 version of the C6 will be available, eventually."

From what I've read and seen here and over at corvetteforum, a ZO6 version is to debut in 06. Besides, I'm betting the regular C6 is so incredible, we won't even have time to think about a Zxx version yet.

The new Corvette is planned to meet the levels of the current Z06, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of a Z06 early on.

Ya, plus, adding the hi-po model a little later gives the public something new to be excited about when C6 is a year or more old...

A lot of that is probably marketing...

And keeping the product fresh and in the news/on people's minds. Same type of thing was implemented with the C5 debuts.

'97 Coupe
'98 Convertible
'99 Hardtop
'01 Z06

kinda scary how everyone is so jaded now, to think that a 420 horse or so "entry" level corvette is not considered the performance corvette?>?!!.... thats kinda strange. HOw high do we have to go for it to be considered performance? come on now..............

Ya, really... to think that most 'normal' cars today can run with or beat most of the old school muscle cars really is amazing... Not to mention handling.

Yup..thats my plan! I'm hoping to find a used Z06 that was pampered by some old guy... Then freshen it up, add in a few more cubic inches, and call it a day.. and hope the Camaro doesn't feel jealous. lol

Considering you have stock Accord's hitting 14's, Mustang Cobra's hitting 12's, lux sedans with 400+ hp, and soon a handful of 4 door compact cars tickling the 13's with AWD, the bar of raw power has been raised.. Now if they could only figure out how to shed another 500 lbs..... Hopefulyl without killing the cost..

I'm really looking forward to the c6 showing. But why'd they have to make it 2004? I hope some news along with pictures leak.
