C5R Andy Pilgrim in Chicago - Chevy Exhibit
C5R Andy Pilgrim in Chicago - Chevy Exhibit
Good afternoon, all,
We are fortunate to feature Andy Pilgrim -- Corvette C5R Driver at the Chevy Exhibit at the 2003 Chicago International Auto Show at McCormick Place the evening of February 17th from 6 to 9 pm.
He will be signing autographs next to the Chevrolet Motorsports Display within the Chevy Exhibit, so if you have the opportunity, please stop by and say hello.
Brief Bio:
Andy Pilgrim is recognized as one of North America’s most accomplished road racers – he has over 50 wins in 10 different series of competition. He currently drives a C5R in GM’s Corvette racing program and was responsible for the cars first ALMS victory in Sept 2000 at the Texas Motor Speedway.
In 1986, he took his first professional win in the IMSA Firestone Firehawk Endurance Championship at Sears Point in a Pontiac Firebird. Pilgrim won 20 more races in 106 Firehawk series starts in the next decade. Considering the level of competition in Firehawk, his 20% win ratio is remarkable. Andy’s unbeaten – and likely unbeatable world record of 116 consecutive race finishes in IMSA/PSCR events is unprecedented.
To date, Pilgrim has 50 wins in over 80 professional races in Corvettes
