I just watched an episode of top gear and im still shaking. I dont know if you guys have heard of this car but i think it is simply amazing. It has a W16. yes thats right a W16. two V8 engines put together to form one. and on top of that it has 4 turbochargers!!!! it needs 10 radiators, 3 for the engine, 3 for the intercoolers, and i forgot what the rest were for... all together it has 1,000hp with 950ft/lb tourque. WOW!!!!

 

Chuck Norris just bought one.

i know they have had it out for a while but this one was a 2006... they made changes to it

 

I read about it in this months issue of R&T, they called it the "world's fastest production car." But for the pricetag that it carries over its head, I would certainly hope so.

 

I remember reading that its 253mph top speed is still limited, as the special Michelins on it are only safetly built to handle that much speed. Untethered, according to a remark I read by an engineer, they dont know how fast it will actually go.

 

Michelin's PAX system.... very heavy though, I remember a remark about want to use it on the vette, but unsprung weight was to high.

I liked reading Gordon Murray's technical assessement. Was it me or did it seem like Murray pretty much said "Nice try you bastards, but my F1 is still the shizznit!"

anyways i think the engine is EXTREMELY overrated. 16 cylinders and 4 turbos to get 1000 hp? GM did that NA

I agree with the or not since Bugatti is a division of Audi-VW.

 

Yeah, but GM did not put that engine into production, only a concept. I don't think this engine is overrated at all. You could hit 1000hp with MUCH less, but this motor is built with longevity in mind.
