Bowling Green and the hurricane..

Anyone here had their plans changed by the huricane, or think they may be? Every day I look, the track gets closer BG. I am just wondering since I know alot of people are driving, or coming in from the south.

Last year my house got hit by Hurricane Isabelle while I was in BG for the F-body show.

You know, I was just thinking the same thing...the projected track is putting it east of BG, but certianly close enough on Thursday thru Saturday to wash out everything.....I guess we'll need ot keep an eye out on the track....damn-it!!!!!!!

I don't think the Corvette Museam will cancel...but what is there to do if it rains all weekend?

Is there any precedent?

That really stinks for the Bowling Green summit. I was gonna go but it looks like work is gonna get in the way (again). Hopefully it doesnt rain all weekend and mess you guys up.

On the bright side, at least that damn thing is gonna mostly miss us (except for the panhandle). We've had enough of those things this year!

I am supposed to speak, but i am really debating now. I do not want to get stuck driving 14 hours through the mountains in a tropical storm. Also, it seems like less people have commited to go...or is it just me?

Looks like it shouldn't start raining there until Saturday afternoon/evening. By then everything should be just about wrapped up....I'll still be there, and I will be at Jerry's on Saturday morning......how will I know who is who though, can't just walk in and tell the lady I'm meeting with the 5th gen forum, she will think I'm more nuts than I really am...

No she won't...that's what I did last year when I was there with Doug and poSSum

Hey, I drove through the hurricane that hit last year!! All through PA and most of OH I drove from 1 AM - 5 AM through the worst rain I've ever seen, on I-71. I was fine, except for a little incident at 3:30 AM where, uh, I was in a construction zone and as the highway went back to 3 lanes I gave it gas in 5th gear around 40 MPH or so and, uh, all of a sudden I was facing the median

Thankfully me and the car were ok. No clue what I hit other than a puddle, but it was enough to swear to not take the car out in rain until I put my new GSCs on it...Avon ZZ1s suck (came with the car when I bought it)...

As long as you have good tires and eyesight, go for it...I'll be stripping wallpaper wishing I had the $$ to be there myself!

Re: Bowling Green and the hurricane..

It's too early to plan to go or not go based on Hurricane Ivan's track. It may indeed ruin the weekend, but this storm has not been easy to forecast so far, and I doubt it will be so over the next few days.

It bears watching, but don't bet the bank on the current forecast. Give it a day or two to firm up.
