BMW ///M5 concept

http://www.supercars.net/cars/2004@$...ept%20M5g.html

Don't know if this has been posted yet, or that none cares because it's a euro product (don't get a lot of posts about them), but there was an M5 concept shown not too long ago.

Some notes of interest: 500hp 5.0L v10, 7spd sequential manual gearbox.

Overall styling isn't bad at all, and better than i had anticipated. Some of the proportions are still somewhat odd, and i hate those godawful headlights/taillights, but i like the overall styling. Not as good looking as the previous gen M5, but still good looking nonetheless. Still, its got nothing on the AMG cars. Maybe Cadillac can use BMW's styling mishaps to their advantage.

This btw is just the concept, but it gives us a very good idea of what we'll see in the production version.

Looks like they cribbed tailights from the WRX...

The 5 series is the first Bangle-ized Bimmer Ive liked. The fact that its got a 500 horse V10 and 7 foward gears just makes it better.

Question: How will Cadillac V's respond to this new ///M? I'm talking in terms of exclusivity, technology, and overall driving dynamics? What will the future Cadillac V need?

500HP 3v V8, optional 6 speed automatic, and $30K lower price.

THe STSv will probably be closer the the M5 in price, V12 STS maybe?

I dunno about you, but I'm more intrested in the 7 speed SMG!

Deos GM even have anything equivalent to BMW's SMG?

I bet that new M5 will be much more exspensive then the previous version. SMGs aren't cheap. And everytime I read a car review with one--there is always some bitching.

Give a regular manual transmission anyday. Along with the odd styling direction BMW has taken--it doesn't do much for me.
