As fast as it will be , as good as it will handle , its too bad the new one wont have 1/2 the charm of the last model . I absolutely LOVE the 02-current M3 , but am very turned off by the still odd new styling , in and out .

why not? it works very well.

Just imagine if GM made a V10 and V12 version of the LS6 and LS7......

Not like they have anything to put it in, but those engines would kick ***.

Also BMW's are becoming very expensive disposable cars. I'd never own one and I suspect that as time goes on their insurance rates will climb because of the damage done at low speed impacts to the front end.

Aside from the front end falling apart on an impact they are amazing machines.

Yeah , I read a fairly in depth article on the front subframe deal with ow speed accidents , I was fairly shocked to say the least .

I believe they did try, but they were having problems with the crankshafts not breaking.

There MAY () have been a V10 under development, but I have never heard of it breaking a crank. If it existed, it was stopped for budget/lack of need reasons, as far as I can tell. It was going to require a new controller or dual controllers, as the current ones didn't handle more than 8 cylinder engines, I believe.

I may or may not have driven an AWD Tahoe equipped with the V10 and a beefed up auto, and it might have been scary. On launch, it may have sort of torque steered/lurched the whole vehicle to the right a bit, squatted back big time, and was GONE. In terms of power, think LS7-ish. In terms of torque, well, the LS7's not all that...

All hypothetical, of course, and kinda moot because like we said, even if it existed, it has been put on hold.

It did There was a large multi page write up on it in GM Hightech magazine . It was titled something to the tune of ...."the LS based V10 that almost happened " Lots of pics of the engine itself too . It looked just like a LS1 , short vette and f-body style intake and all ....just add 1 additional cylinder . I have the mag at work in my desk , so I cant reference the issue date of that mag right now .

Reality check...they have a long way to go.

I own a CTS-V and was in the market for an STS-V but decided to go with a 2006 BMW M5 instead. There is a HUGE difference between the STS-V and the M5. IMHO there is absolutely no comparison.

The new M3 will be a rocket on wheels.

These are exciting times we live in...whoever thought we would see such a fast Z06 for $70k...and who thought we would ever see a 4 door sedan for $100k that does go over 200mph when delimited.

Cadillac needs to pay more attention to the small details and take care of their current customer base. You do get what you pay for.

I think the current gen CTS was the learning the curve . From all I can gather , the new CTS set to come out very soon is not gonna disappoint . The new one , as important a model as it is for Cadillac will be very telling to as if they get it or not in regards to all those little details .

But I think Cadillac is poised to really step up to the plate and really turn some heads. AGAIN.
