I love crap like that. Ford Explorer one of the least reliable SUVs? My mother's is almost 3 years old, with 30k. She had one warranty claim. For a sunvisor. Period.

I love CR

This is going to turn ugly. I am also amazed that none of my GM cars have any serious problems but yet surveys like this show that they do. Just the way it is I guess.

Re: Best/Worst Reliability article

I find it extremely interesting... that the Toyota Matrix can make most reliable but its twin, Pontiac Vibe, does not... This says one of two things... The users are two different kinds of people, and that Domestic buyers expect more out of their cars; therefore, Domestic buyers are less satisified with a japanese rebadged.
Or Domestic owners are not being fully heard...

In either event it says one of two things... The Toyota isnt as good as Toyota buyers think it is, as in the minds of Pontiac buyers...
Or... The response is inaccuratly reporting the quality... In any event this is a serious flaw in the reporting and is quite evident...

and on a second note... how can there not be a most reliable van... MOST doesnt mean that the van has to be reliable... it just means its the best pick... so how can a catagory not have a winner?

Re: Best/Worst Reliability article

Can someone tell me how the 2006 Ridgeline is already on the Most Reliable list? Hasn't that truck only been on for 2 or 3 months?

Re: Best/Worst Reliability article

I work with a guy that bases his entire outlook on cars on Consumer Reports. We have had many arguments where he insists imports are better than American cars. I ask him "On what basis" and he replies, because they are "rated higher" in the magazines. He just purchased a used Solara, frankly I don't see what is so spectacular about it as my Grand Prix has all the same, if not more "creature comfort features" as his car. He still insists his car is very reliable and never breaks down, but his car has been to the dealer several times already and my car with 70K hasn't been to the dealer once. Sorry for the rant fellas.

Re: Best/Worst Reliability article

I had thought that historically the Vibe scored better in customer satisfaction surveys than the Matrix. Interesting.

Media bias...again! A friend of my wife has a 2005 4 Runner. She is another person who believes the hype about *** brands. Her 4 Runner has been in the shop at least 5 times. My wife's '01 Suburban once in the shop.

I have a hard time swallowing that. Toyota Prius? Didnt it a an entire slew of problems and then they say the cobalt is the worst by itself? Come on, this screams bias! And I'm not even one the guys around here who waves the GM flag at everything but this just looks like crap to me.

I don't say this often but...I wish we had a "media bias" flag.

Yeah, I assume vehicles simply shutting off while at speed speaks toward a tremendously reliable vehicle.

Was there anything scientific about this poll?
