Unbelievable brand strength from Toyota, even after all of that mess with their gas pedals the Camry and Corolla are the top 2 selling cars.

Take another peek... it's actually the Accord

While the Accord/Camry/Corolla/Civic may still be top selling... the gap HAS REALLY CLOSED over the past 2 years.

I can only imagine what kind of deals that Chevrolet is handing out to sell those Impalas.

The craziest thing for me is the Silverado. Not only is it the only pick-up on the list but it is #2.

What?

The Ford F-series (you know, their pick-up's) are #1 all the way across, the Ram is #15 YTD, and the Sierra showed up in the list for June, #19.

Toyota is just unstoppable. It's to the point where I'm beginning to think that there is simply nothing the American automakers can do. They can put out great cars, great quality, great styling and everything else, but they just can't shake their bad reputation from the 1990s.

Everytime you see something positive in the news media about GM, you will read comments underneath that always say something like "I bought a Chevy in 1993 and it was nothing but problems! Never again will I drive an American car. Only imports for me!"

That's like saying "I dated a girl back in 1993 and she was nothing but problems! Never again will I date a girl. Only guys for me!"

LOL, the ones that complain about a 1993 vehicle, at least have a bit of merit. Its the ones who complain about the 196_, or 197_ being a POS, that drive me crazy.

You would think that someone could get over something, in 30-40 years.

These are the ones that bother me the most.
Bringing up Pintos & Vegas from the early '70s, Corvairs from the early '60s, and someone even brought up an issue with Studebakers from the '50s. WTF!!
That's ancient history.

That mindset doesnt really seem to directly translate to folks who are actually buying cars though like you may be inclined to believe by reading comments on the internet . GM is still outselling toyota without saturn , pontiac , hummer and saab and with the least incentives theyve had in recent history . If you went solely off internet comments in news forums , youd swear no one would be caught dead buying a new GM .

Some people will just never get it.

If we were just talking about a bad vehicle "here and there", American auto manufacturers would've never found themselves in their respective predicaments.

Despite making almost complete crap for AT LEAST 20 years, GM still outsold the evil Japanese auto empire Toyota until.....(drumroll).....2009. Chew on that one for awhile, and then get over the fact that this isn't the 1960s anymore where you basically had a choice of 3 makes of automobiles, and if it weren't for the improvement of competing manufacturers, the American cars we drive around now would still be complete crap.
