Azztek replaced by Torrent

Nothing new, but a funny commentary on it being replaced by the Torrent.

haha! Interested buyer should have undergone phycological testing BEFORE buying!

Worst thing abou the Torrent is the lame-duck 3400 Chinese built V6. Thats just sad.

For all its faults, it did have a tailgate, something virtually impossible to find on an SUV nowadays.

Lol. Thats awful. But that was an ugly sumbitch. Hope this new thing is better, or at least gets better reception.

I guess the optional "tent" never caught on. .. Maybe the tent was for.... because you would want to park that ugly eyesore way out in the woods, so your neighbors would not have to see such a hideous thing in the driveway.

I just don't understand things about life.

One, is how the Azteck got through the drawing room and into production.

The Aztek could have been worse... I guess this is why GM doesn't take chances.. heh..

honestly, I think the Honda Element is uglier.

Geez, it's about time! If the Aztek could make it into production, then surely every single one of us could be designers because I'm positive even the worst artist here could do better.

If you are ever in one of the Fbodfather's "gab" sessions at an event ask him about the GM sales meeting and the tent!

It's actually a very functional small SUV...if it wasn't so ugly, it would have been a great seller...

We've got a 2002 and we love the thing. Yes, it's one of the uglier SUVs on the road, but you can't find a more functional one for the price. Fully loaded, FWD for $22K. Nothing else was even close at the time.

I work for a Pontiac dealer, and the Torrent is the ideal replacement for my girlfriend's car, seeing as how I just bought a house a year ago and don't want to replace my GP at this point (still hoping it will make a great winter beater when its paid off and a 5th gen shows up ). However, until it gets an AMERICAN ENGINE...forget it. Chinese built = inferior as far as I'm concerned...go to Wal Mart and have a look if you don't believe me.

I am sure its been durability tested, I am sure it meets or exceeds GM's standards, and I am sure its a state-of-the-art plant. But I will NOT spend a dime of my hard-earned money until GM can give me an engine built in the U.S. or Canada...period! I am already getting a backlash of customers looking for info on the Torrent and how it differs from the Equinox. When they ask whether the engine is the same "Chinese thing" in the Equinox, not ONE person has been ok with that, out of the 10-12 customers I have spoken with.

GM shot themselves in the foot there. I would buy a Torrent, and my father wants an Equinox to replace his TrailBlazer. However, GM won't get those two sales until a non-Chinese engine is in that car...period. Sorry to rant here, but the more my dad and I think about this the more mad we get...
