Ineteresting. Also, wonder if the other Epsilons will be getting powerups.

The 2.8l CTS shows how great the HFV6 engine is: 6 speeds, 210hp, 17/27 EPA. Much better than those crappy OHV engines (from the 1980s).
[/sarcasm]
I wonder if this pre-emptive reply will stop any of the "I want the HFV6 messages" in this forum

Or that it's a little suspicious to suddenly find another 20hp from the 3.5l V6 given that they just came out with a 211hp version for the 2006 Impala? Or that the 3.9l V6 in the G6 hits 270hp with special exhaust and air filters that wouldn't be in a car like the Aura?
I agree (in spite of the sarcastic post earlier).

Re: Aura NOT Getting the 3.6l?
That's just messed up. We can argue the merits of OHV vs. OHC all day long (and I have in previous posts) but the undeniable truth is that perception is reality in the marketplace. Most consumers and all automotive journalists view OHV as antiquated and that's the label that will get stuck with these drivetrains.
Hey GM, you said this was the turnaround that's actually gonna happen, that you're going to do it right this time, and that it's your last shot at saving the corporation. Well, putting OHVs in the Aura would be doing the same old "we know what's best for the consumer" crap that's been failing for the last 20 years. You need to leapfrog the competition, not do something 'good enough'. Use that pile of cash from GMAC to make a truly world class vehicle in every respect, not continue to cut corners and hope no one will notice. The Japanese and Koreans didn't gain marketshare by making substandard products; they made good (often great) products at a reasonable price. What makes you think you are going to gain back your marketshare making the same junk that's caused you to slide down to 24% in the first place? It's time to think differently for once.
So I sure hope this rumour is not true.

We will find out the truth next week. Personally I think Saturns should all have DOHC engine. It will be better for people cross shopping with Hondas and Toyotas and it is something to keep Saturn different from Chevy and Pontiacs.

Plus, I don't believe that the 3.6 has been dropped from the Aura.
Re: Aura NOT Getting the 3.6l?
The thing is though? The 3.9 is an awesome engine...it is nothing like the other HV engines in response, sound, NVH, anything...its a sweet little motor...
I know the DOHC adds cache, but if the MPG is worse, and the HP is worse, then the 3.9 isn't a bad thing necessarily, IMO...
