Anyone see "The Last Ride" last night?

It was on USA network twice. It was a so-so movie overall with some fantastic driving and some great views of San Diego (it made me homesick
). Just think "Fast and Furious" and you pretty much have it.
Fantastic commercials too. My favorite was the Pontiac commercial that had a 3 car garage door opening 1st to reveal a GTP, then a GXP, then a GTO races up the driveway, spins around by doing a hook slide, then backs into the empty space in the garage. PRICELESS!
The show featured almost exclusively GM cars save the SDPD cars and what seemed to be left overs from "2Fast 2Furious".
Instead of "Last Ride", it could have just as easily been called "The GM Movie, featuring GTO".

Yeah I saw it as well, and would pretty much agree with you on everything you said. Here's my take on it: I don't see how/why Pontiac would advertise this as a movie with the new GTO, then show it stock for like 2 whole minutes, then get it repainted, add gfx, rims, scoops and a different spoiler to it?
Obviously, Pontiac might not have had too much control over the script and storyline, but it would seem counterproductive to hype this movie featuring the new GTO, then quickly modify it to make it look more aggressive. Especially in light of all the complaints the car already had been receiving. I don't know, but to me that doesn't make much sense.

The movie wasn't that bad for a made-for-tv-movie. I liked it when Dennis Hopper kept on calling his car a rice burner. Thought they could have made the car chase seens alot better and also showed more of that silver TA WS.6 Conv.
I GUARANTEE it will be on again. You know how networks ***** out movies like that, especially ones that are that hyped.
Parts of the movie I REALLY liked:
1: The guy said he had 4-2-1 headers on his V6 eclipse
2: Dennis Hopper hides very important stuff in his alternator. Like it wouldn't be the FIRST thing to be replaced on the car in 30 years.
3: They're painting the GTO and the guy starts talking about headwork. Ok yeah, we'll just paint the car, modify the body completely, lower it, and while we're at it, why not take the engine apart and P&P the heads while we're at it? Oh, all in one night? Sure!!
I actually did like it for the most part, lol.

i liked the movie, the hood scooped hood on the gto looked awesome too!! gfx im not sure about but that hood should be an option taken straight from the movie
only part i really didnt like was when they drove the judge off the cliff...
STOP DESTROYING CLASSIC CARS IN MOVIES... at least spend extra $$$ and do a computer generated car falling off a cliff

Don't be upset that there was no Fords in it, maybe next time.

And why would I want a Ford in it? It's a movie about a GTO correct? You have personal issues with me and I have no idea why, nor do I really care too much
Now back to topic...
I really like that hood. The front valence is a little overboard, but not as bad as some of the import stuff I've seen.
