Anyone notice the cool colors that Aveos come in?

I saw one in a really cool metallic lime green the other day. They also come in Aqua, a couple of cool shades of blue, yellow, spicy orange and both sport and victory red.

Actually, I think they're kinda cool little cars for the price. I was calculating that with the GM discounts and all of my GM points, I could get one for around 5 grand.

OK, no I wasn't seriously considering it, but that's ridiculously cheap for a pretty decent new car in a cool color.

The unique colours appeal to the youth market, of course.

My only question is why does it have to be so dorky looking? It's just as easy to design a great looking cool car as it is a fudmobile. I think a lot more people would consider an Aveo if it didn't look like a grinning tadpole.

That lime color is not bad. I saw one on the highway, and it actually made it look better. I can't wait til the new Aveos come out, as they look pretty good for what they are.

How expensive is it to get parts for these cars? Being Daewoo's and all I guess it's probably expensive to get parts overseas for these cars...

These are actually pretty cool little rides, and not just only because of the colors.

When you realize how much room is in them, and the styling isn't bad for it's proportions, and it actually has a pretty nice interior, its a far nice car than other bargin basement attempts of the past number of years (Ford Fiesta anyone?).

That said, I wouldn't own one on my own free will.

Re: Anyone notice the cool colors that Aveos come in?

There were a couple parked in front of our Chevy dealership in some nice Easter pastel colors and my 9yr old daughter said she'd rather walk than have one of those for her car. She then pointed out an old loud smoking truck going down the street and said she'd rather have it. Of course now me and the wife tease her and tell her we have a deposit on one and it'll be paid for and all hers when she turns 16.

Its probably the horrible looks of the car that has prevented me from noticing their "cool" colors.

I think the coolest paint color for those cars would be invisble, so no one has to see what the hell you are driving.

As cheap cars go, compared to the cheap Daewoos, Echos, Accents, Metros and other cars, the Aveo looks pretty damn good.

Charlie,
The GMS on a "value package" $9,995 Aveo is $8,700 with a stick and no A/C But then, add in my GM points and yeah, I can get one for $7k I thought about it as I looked at a silver one for about, oh, 6 seconds, and moved on

The current aveo IMO looks too cheap and sub compact for my tastes.........but the one that was a concept and I believe that is being sold overseas looks 100x better. They are not a bad car for the price, though if I had to chose between a new Aveo and somewhat new or barley used Cavalier I'd go with the Cavalier personally. Though I cant wait to see the new styled one here though.

I guess I've got more GM points than you Jason. In fact they're going to start expiring soon. I started saving them 7 years ago in anticipation for my 2004 Z/28.
