Anyone know anything new about the CTS V?
I was excited about the CTS V when I first heard about it, but I haven't heard anything new for a few months. The GTO's interesting, but not practical for me right now with a child that's going to be in a car seat for another two years. The CTS V isn't on the debut list for either L.A. or Detroit, and I can't seem to find any lists for the other large shows (Chicago, NYC, etc.). If anyone has any information other than what is on the Cadillac website, I'm all ears. Now, if I can just teach the wife to drive a manual trans car before they actually come out...
I know that they are not in the same class, but if you can't wait and wanted something with four doors why don't you get the new GXP Pontiac with the 4.4 ltr V8 that will be out in 04 i think.. .and you won't need the manual tranny.
or does it have to be a RWD car, and speaking of which why don't you get the CTS right now i'm sure it's no slouch as it is?
not asking dumb questions just wondering...

ced8,
Your questions definitely aren't dumb. I want a 4-door, V8, RWD, manual trans car; I can't even think about affording an M5, which it definitnely sounds like Cadillac is shooting for with the CTS V, at (hopefully) less than half the price. The upsized brakes, retuned suspension, and different seating of the V would be worth waiting for in addition to the drivetrain.
I can't get a CTS with just a 'Sport' package - the only way to get the 'Sport' is to get the 'Luxury Sport' package, and I don't necessarily want the stuff that's included with it. Plus, I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket supercharger kit for the V6 CTS, which I think is the only way I'd be happy with the current one power-wise. Spec'd the way I'd want it, sticker would be just south of $38K, which I could get for roughly $34K with my supplier discount.

"To incease horse power on the CTS, the LPE team added a cold air intake box with a hi-flow air filter and lifetime warranty to the stock 3.2L V-6 engine, delivering an increased 12-14hp. Lund Performance Engineering has a supercharger currently in testing and will go into production later this year."
I think you can call someone at Lund Performane Engineering for more details regarding their supercharger.. good luck
