Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?
Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?
I saw this posted on LS2.com
Hot Rod, who is affiliated with M/T has a full article on the 05 GT. And they start off by saying this:
"Although our sister mag M/T published a report of an auto equipted 05 GT running 13.6 we'll chalk that up to an optimistic weather correction factor."
Paul Svinicki who is regarded as a killer Mustang driver ran the 05 MANUAL TRANS GT to a 13.9@101.
They go on to say this:
"WHEEL HOP WAS SO BAD HE THOUGHT THE REAR END WAS GOING TO BREAK.
The shifter was so floppy he could not powershift.
SO THE NEW MUSTANGS DON'T LIVE UP TO THE DRAG STRIP ANTICS OF AN LS1 CAMARO"
Their best 60 ft was a 2.13.
END OF QUOTE.
Did they really say that about the LS1? Their times are alot closer to what I've seen at the track from 05s.

MWAHAHAHA
I hope all of you are happy with your almost 14 second
M*stangs you bunch of NON FAITH KEEPERS... yeah so I couldn't think of a better word.
Especially now that Automotive Tool, Die & Mold Seminars has been released and we have an unofficial confirmation of an '08 Camaro. Hmm... Looks like some of you may be trading in that M*stang.
Now you're gonna tell me you bought the car for its looks...

Oh, and I can one up you on the rumor mill. Mr. Shinoda, from the Boss / Stingray fame, came to me in a vision while I was eating mushrooms and having sex with Laura Bush, and he gave me an unofficial confirmation about the '09 Camaro.
I just love the word 'unofficial' when its online. :blah:
Re: Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?
yes and the motortrend and the car and driver articles I think the mustang is really sweet. Way better than the last there was a private party car lot with an 2005 gt someone drove from NY? i think it was sitting next to a SS and the body fit and the general appearance shows a better build quality AT LEAST IT LOOKS LIKE IT. the body gaps are way tighter. they look sweet and are cheap! but give it a few months and they will be just as lame and boring as the previous mustang. has anyone else noticed the similarities between the mustang and the camaro? THe rear ends look very similar and did ford just rip off the ls1 intake manifold design?
since chevy seems to be offering more horsepwer in alot more cars and there is this big void left for the next gen camaro to fill. My theory is they are waiting till they hype of the mustang dies and are keeping absolutlely quiet about a new one that they are building the suspense....I HOPE! It just doesnt make sense not to build a next gen c'maro.

Re: Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?
There's a guy on Stangnet running 13.3s all stock...confirmed with timeslips and a camaroz28.com member witness.
It is pretty funny how your boasting about a car that isn't due, at the earliest, until 2008. BTW, the Mach1 is coming next year. NA 5.4 liter; 370hp

Re: Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?
i absolutely agree burmite...
but it kinda made me angry b/c all those people lost faith. and if there is one thing i can't stand, it's a M*stang. At least it's American.
I for one want the Camaro to return from its roots ONLY... I don't want some clunky lumbering sedan based "sports car"
I want a muscle car just as much as everyone else.

Re: Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?
Dang, its getting worse. Now you're attacking a future Mustang for a non-existent future Camaro.
Look: Hotrod magazine has ALWAYS been anti-Ford, like every other major car magazine that has been around that long. There's a reason for it. I don't care what that magazine has to say.
As far as all this hatred towards the Mustang, and talk of older Camaros, and future Mustangs...I think the laws of supply and demand speak for themselves. I love them both, Camaros and Mustangs, but all this talk about my dead daddy can kick your future daddys *** has gotta go.

Wait 'til Bob Cosby and I roll out the big guns on something we want to argue about.
PS - The Hot Rod quote is absolutely PRECIOUS.
Re: Anybody read the new Hot Rod mag about the 05 Mustang GT?

FYI...I don't buy/read Hot Rod, as they rarely have anything I'm interested in. However, their new editor is a friend of mine - Rob Kinnan. Up until 1 Oct 04, he was the editor of the National Mustang Racers Association's "Race Pages" publication. I have confidence that Rob will be good for the magazine and the sport in general.
