Any possibility of big discounts for 06 GTOs?

with still almost 200 05s left on the lots and over 5k 06s left to be sold, do you think GM will do anything to try to move these units? namely 0% financing or anything? i dont want my payments to go up much more than they are but i pretty much hate my cheap POS colorado and gm really doesnt make anything else that interests me for a daily driver like the GTO does. so what do you guys think?

GM still had on lots and was still selling new Camaros till torwards the end of 2004 and Oldsmobiles till at least mid-2005, even though both were discontinued years earlier. Plus, with 2500-3000 Pontiac dealers coast to coast, 5,000 '06 GTOs in November 2006 is a non-issue, and a mere 500 '05 GTOs works out to 1 per 10 dealers. Again, not even a speed bump to dealers who often trade amoung each other. A dealer in Tahoe in the winter with a GTO can easily exchange with one in the Bay Area for a AWD Vibe, and both would have no problem selling once exchanged.

In short, to answer your question........ nope. No deal.

Here in Syracuse, NY, Burdick Pontiac is discounting '06 GTOs up to $5,600. MSRP is $33,180; sale price is $27,580. There's a $1,000 rebate and $1,000 Conquest Cash included in that price.
I'm looking at the newspaper ad as I type.

BTW, what type of Colorado do you have and what's wrong with it?

Burdick Pontiac,
3593, Route 31, Liverpool N.Y. 13090

1-800-985-1763

Pontiac GTO

MSRP: $33,290

Quoted price: $31,290

Dealer cost: approx $29-30,000 before incentives.

APR: 5.9%

$1000 Conquest Cash ONLY if you trade in a NON-GM PRODUCT

$1000 Rebate from General Motors

Advertized Dealer Incentive on GTO: $200

Total potential discount on a 2006 GTO: $2,200

Minimum price before taxes & title: $30, 090
(if you traded in your non-GM car, you would get a trade-in value for your car, therefore it would still be deducted from the price rendering the "conquest discount" essentially moot when quoting any non-trade-in price)

Overview:
Since MSRP has nothing to do with the selling price, a dealer can set any price below MSRP he wants, and call it a discount. This dealer cut his potential profit on the GTO from a minimum of $3,200 to about $1000 to $1200. Not bad.

By throwing in the conditional $2000 from GM, he can claim a discount of about $4200. If he throws in a set of $1000 rim & tires & charges say $3,000 for it, but adds it to the discount and charges only $1600 (a trick done here in Cali often), he can claim a total discount of $5,600 while your cost before taxes & title is still about $31,700 (without trade in).

Hardly the deals you'd expect.

Pretty much every GTO I've looked into goes no lower than about $30,000 without trade-in. Burdick Pontiac is on par at $30,090

Not picking on or 2nd guessing ya. I've just been looking for the elusive so-called brand new $26,000 2006 GTO or more than $3000 worth of discounts on GTOs others have been posting about.

Haven't found it yet.... without it being a repo, dealer used, or a lemon turn-in.

i was reading through ls1gto.com and many speculated there that there might be some heavy discounts to move them. i stopped at one pontiac dealership saturday night here in kansas city mo that had about 15 on the lot and they were all red tag marked to just over 29k. most were 6 speeds as well. but im not doubling my vehicle payment for that car, its not worth that much to me as a daily driver.

whats wrong with my colorado? many many things. its a cheap pos (which is sad coming from a 4th gen fbody owner...). ive owned it since july of 04 and have had numerous problems. window fell off the track and the motor died at the exact same time, heater blower motor started making a real nasty noise and had to be replaced (which it is starting to do again), the **** as contitrac tires that lasted less than 20k miles (front and rear so burnouts didnt play a role in that plus at the tire i hadnt learned how to make this underpower turd do one), transmission was leaking from the tail housing where the driveshaft connected, gas gauge is absolutely terrible (its worse than my 87 camaro was). lots of rattles and squeeks (some in part because of the lowering kit but many were there before i lowered it), a/c is not cold what-so-ever but is "within specs", loud wind noise that "cant be duplicated" by two different trustworthy dealerships and several techs, terrible brake squeel all the time "that is normal", worthless seats and even worse interior quality. should i keep going? the one that bugs me a lot is the steering wheel. i got the optional leather one and after 32k miles it looks like its in the same shape as my grandparents 2000 grand marquis steering wheel thats in a car with over 120k miles on it thats never been taken care of on the inside.

the truck is terrible. i want either a gto or a traiblazer ss.top it off with it being underpowered as hell, top speed limited to 98mph and a transmission that doesnt know what gear it really wants, and it makes for a truck that hasnt made me very happy. BTW its a 2004 Black ZQ8 Extended cab. 3.5L i5 with 3.73 gears.

There's deals, you just have to know where to look for them.

Find a dealer who has a deal that you want, print off their ad and make them match the deal.

Here's one for example...

http://www.raylaethem.com/Specials-New.aspx

NEW 2006 GTO'S JUST 2 LEFT ..... AUTOMATIC EVERYONE PRICE $27695...................... SIX SPEED EVERYONES PRICE $27449

Another deal, GMS pricing on this one though.

i can get the GMS pricing on any available gm from any dealership because my grandfather is retired gm. its how i got my turd of a truck i have now. problem is even at 27k 7% for 72 months my payment will go up right at $100 a month. i dont want to pay another $100 a month just to enjoy what i drive. i have an fbody that needs that money. its why i was hoping for a good deal or maybe even 0% on the gtos.

anyone know the real gms price for a trailblazer ss? not a single dealership in this area will give me even a ballpark gms price for any vehicle.

I got my mom one for GMS, and it was right at 28k, and that was after the rebate I'm pretty sure. Sticker was 33 something. It was an A4, w/ the gas guzzler tax and nothing else (she didn't want the 18's or the 6spd )

thats the price i was hoping for with GMS along with very low or 0% financing. without that its too much for me to justify for just a daily beater.

Consumers are not required to trade in their competitive make vehicle to obtain conquest bonus cash. They simply have to show that they currently own a non GM vehicle.

Please don't misquote dealer "costs". Dealer invoice cost is a little under $32K on an MSRP of $33,290.

If you received a price of $31,290 before any incentives, you were doing really quite well.
