There's one of the 05 Saleen Mustangs on a lot near where I live, I was wondering, what makes it so special, other than the body kit and sticker? I didn't think it looked that great in person...Better than the fugly stock GT, though...I just haven't been able to find much on the net, although I might not be looking in the right places, lol.

 

I saw one driving in Vegas, looked really nice in person.

I figure it's like the previous Saleens. The lowest tier is basically a body kit, rims, suspension upgrades, exhaust and a few other knick knacks for the price of a Cobra. Saleen isn't really in the big value dept, you're paying for the exclusivity of the name.

 

I saw a few of these at a local dealership and I was blown away by the price ..........................47k! That is insane. Who are these people that buy them and I am sure they are out there. I was going to ask the salesman "why would I buy this car over a new C6?" but I didn't. Back seat blah blah, 47k for a name and body kit is not worth it by a long shot.

 

Did you notice the word "supercharged" on the sticker? The part of Saleen that gets me is this.Once they get "your" car they sell off the left over stock parts to make a profit! But still charge full price on everything else.

 

I have seen a Roush 05 stage 1,WOW. It is a looker, MUCH better than stock! It still had the stock rims and tires! $35,000, ouch for stock rims and tire w/ no mods to motor.

 

Nope. The hood was open and there was NO supercharger, it looked bone stock.

 

Base price on the S281 (325HP) is $39K
It has cold air kit, Center Exhaust, Body kit, Suspension, 20" wheels, and Interior appointments.
The S281 Supercharged (400HP) is $45K.

 

there is also a 500HP S/c package for $65K or $75K

 

I would definitely want more power.
