Any major changes coming up for the GM full size 1500's?

Like the title says, are there any big changes on the horizon for 1500 series full size pickups over the next model year or two that we know of?

All new supposedly around the 2013 time frame. Unknown if it's 2013MY or 2013 calendar year as 2014 models. Likely the Gen V V8's will be part of the package as well. Sooner the better.

I hope they add some space to the cabs. Ford, Dodge, and Toyota all offer more rear seat space in their extended cab and crew cab models compared to the current GM offerings (and more behind the seat space in the reg cabs).

I'm a little concerned, however, since the 2011 HDs were just given ground up frame redesigns while still utilizing the existing bodies. I'd bet serious money that this badass new frame will be around for the 2013 trucks.

I'm relatively sure that the cab/door dimensions haven't changed any any significant or noticeable amount since the introduction of the 1999 GMT-800 1500's and 2001 GMT-800 HD's.

I wonder if that light duty diesel they delayed last year is going to come out soon?

When they shelved it they said it would take a year to get it into production once green-lighted again. AFAIK there's been no green light.

I also believe this to be the case. The GMT800s were quite stout, and the GMT900s are like bank vaults. The frame was all new, but it kept the same basic dimensions (likely for manufacturing purposes). If they have to follow the same template for the next round, it is going to be a problem, IMO.

The GMT900s are among the best in terms of how they drive and everything, and while the interiors are no longer best in class, they are still quite good (and better than the Tundra and Titan). But in terms of outright passenger space, they are off the mark now. I'm really hoping the replacements can rectify this.

All the GMT900's need an MCE before 2013/14. Nothing major, but minor touch ups. This would have been a good year to do that.
