Any GM plants near the San jose area...saw a couple of things??
As the above states...does anyone know of any GM plants in the San Jose area, maybe Gilroy? The reason i ask is, i was at work yesterday and i see a light tanish Chevy truck, Regular cab, pretty sure it was a silverado, and it was a stepside as well...anyway near the front end of the doors, it had SS badges...the truck also had some type of brake vents??? i dunno..on the front bumper towards the bottom, also had what looked like 19" rims and looked factory. I was just wondering if they're are any testing grounds out here for new GM vehicles...? The truck had no plates or tags, and was not covered up at all...might be wrong but i don't think i've ever seen a stepside silverado, kind of reminded me of a lightning. Didn't care for the color that much but overall it didn't look bad. And the second thing...are the 03' vettes out yet? because i saw two anniversary 03's as well, kinda ugly looking burgandy color(not sure exactly what the color was)a few stripes and a 50th badge on the fenders...again i'm not sure on either of these two things. I'm an independent contractor so i move all over the bay area, i've seen a lot of cars that i never gave much thought, just wondering if you guys know of any nearby plants in the area...i'm going back to the same location in about an hour so if i see the truck again i'll snap a picture...later guys

There is a joint GM/Toyota factory in Fremont.
Two weeks ago, Mitsubishi was shooting brochure pictures over on Stockton & Post streets in San Fran for their upcomming crossover vehicle, and a few years ago Lincoln had a weeklong press preview over on Treasure Island where they also previewed the LS and Blackwood.
I'm guessing it's one of those possibilities.

One of the earlier Silverado SS prototypes that was shown was kind of a champagne beige type color. There's a regular cab stepside Silverado SS running around - there have been pictures both here and on LS1, but it's dark blue or black I think. The 2003 Silverado SS (the extended cab, regular bed production model) only comes in Black, Red, and Blue currently so it sounds like you either saw the earlier show car, or another regular cab prototype.
The 'Vette color is simply called "Anniversary Red"

Thanks for the Info guys, i didn't see the truck again today...but it was a beige color, or tanish not really sure so i guess it wasn't the real thing, unless it was a prototype...it looked really good though, i'm not into trucks at all, but it looked better than a lightning or any other truck on the road right now...but like i said i see lots of cool looking cars that i don't think are close to being for sale to the public, and i'll be sure to bring my camera with me for now on...later guys
i know this not a silverado but tell me if it looks similar of familiar,

Well the truck was definetly larger than the truck in the pic...and the fenders did not buldge out like that, and it was an reg cab. But the rims look familiar for some reason?!?! but overall no thats not the truck i saw, and i haven't seen it since...ready to take a pic though. later guys
