Any changes for 06 GTO?

I have a 2004 GTO that the SmartBuy is up in Sept. 2006, so I'm curious as to whether anyone has any information about changes/upgrades for the 06 model GTO (last of the Monaro series). I know they are supposed to go into production in June/July 2005. I'd love to see the Monaro HVAC controls and maybe a rear spoiler delete to add to the upgrades made to the 2005 model.

I would very much doubt any changes. This will be a shorter production run as the plant will get changed over to Zeta after the 06s are done. It will however be most likely the most desireable of the modern GTOs though. Probably be some special paint or decal options, Judge anyone?

Geeze, the 05's are barely on lots, and we're wondering about the 06. I doubt much, if anything, will be changed. Won't '06 be the final production year for the car before it's built here? Why would they want to dump even more money into it before it's built here?

Re: Any changes for 06 GTO?

I would most likely expect a couple new features . But they would be pre-existing Monaro features . There are several other things the Monaro has the GTO doesnt .

My guess

-The monaro 18" wheels , which I "think" are the GTO p.pkg wheels .
-center guage pod that showed up on the 05 Monaro

I bet the Judge comes back with the new redesigned model.

Anybody wonder if GM will stick with the GTO name when the new car rolls out?

Yeah, I certainly don't EXPECT any major changes, just curious if anyone out there had heard of any, since the 2006 goes into production only 6 months from now.

Wasn't GM working on a 6 speed automatic trans for the 06 Vette? Couldn't they stick that in the 06 GTO?

I think the reason they didnt put that tranny in the 05 was bc at the time it couldnt handle the torque. But the STS V has the new 6 spd auto so they probably fixed that problem. DOnt know about whether or not it will go in the 06 GTO but it would be cool to have it on the Zeta coupes, although i will be going for the manual
