Another "exclusive" manufacturing agreement
Biscayne would be cool, but it definately brings "budget model" to mind for anyone that remembers the cars.
The right car(good looking, powerful, v8 rwd sedan) will change the Caprice image fast. I'd just remove the emblems anyway and put Impala on there

G4, I hadn't heard of that one. Pontiac tried this back in the early eighties only to flip-flop on it because of confusion and the fact that consumers didn't really warm to the new nomeclature. (At least I think that was why they backed off the alphanumerics) T1000, J2000, 6000 but wait... they still offered Fiero, Grand Prix, Bonneville/Parisienne and Firebird.
Personally I prefer real names for cars.

If I'm not mistaken there is a plan afoot to produce RWD cars in Oshawa towards the end of the decade - I thought I saw that posted here somewhere by Guoin.
About the G6 - - yeah I like the car and it looks very promising especially in GTP/GXP form although according to Branden the GXP could go for like 35,000 - a little much for a Grand AM (OK if it were Cdn dollars but US- yikes). It really should retain the Grand Am name. By and lage it has been and is a solid, dependable car that has sold well for Pontiac - now if they would finally fix that head gasket issue with the v6, then they would be on to something.
GM may indeed have to rename all it's vehicles if it wants to remove the generally negative feelings about it's product that seem to persist. I think for the most part import biased people don't say (for example) Grand Ams suck; they say GM sucks. I may be reaching a little but I have wandered into some import boards at one time and that's the impression I came away with.

EDIT: Which after thinking about it... the the Pontiac minivan name history is an odd and twisted path:
Pontiac Trans Sport to Pontiac Trans Sport Montana package to Pontiac Montana to Pontiac Montana SV6....

To all you guys that don't think the Caprice name would be good to bring back, get in touch with Law Enforcement Officers and Taxi drivers across the country and ask them what they think of the Chevrolet Caprice
I also think Biscayne would be cool name to bring back

I also think Biscayne would be cool name to bring back
