Am I the only one getting burned out reading the new "Camaro/NAIAS" forum?

I'm beging to feel a bit ragged after going to that forum.

Perhaps it's the people coming in from the "Lounge" who are more spitfire than thought. Maybe it's that you just get burned out reading the same things over and over again. Perhaps it's just Camaro burnout.

Even though I've been following things as closely as I can as a info gatherer and reader on all things Camaro, I'm not enjoying going to the Camaro section nearly as much as I enjoy coming to the "future vehicles section".

Perhaps we can divide the "Camaro" into the "concept" for the NAIAS section, and the progression of development for the future vehicles section.

Then again, maybe it's all just me.

Nope, I'm right there with ya. Getting tired of the reading. i think it is the increase of members from the Lounge, and new members coming on and giving there two cents worth.

Are you SURE it is "Lounge" members that are the majority posting?

We could always start another "winky guy" club and call the car something else. (like "the fishbone project" or something quirky). We would then only talk about it in vague references and links to mosty unrelated documents. It'd be like old times.

Can you get us real statistics?

It has just got overly busy in there for whatever reason. The problem is that it is just a little too much Camaro for me. When the forums were combined we had a few Camaro threads and maybe twice as many about other things going on in the industry. Now it is the 24 hour Camaro channel, and since there are so many people in there a lot of topics get rehashed because a lot don't want to take the time to read all the threads so they just start their own.

I don't know if it's the new 'spitfires' (which I'll agree there seem to be some folks there I've never seen before who don't seem to come across as 'thinkers' like many regulars here) or just the fact..

...isn't it a bit damn early yet to be arguing about anything new? After Jan 14th, sure, but we don't even know what we saw.

I am tired of it. I have actually stopped going to it really. I think I'll be skipping it for a while just because the traffic is so high.

Yeah, I’m getting sick of posting the same thing over and over again with no one listening to me……

I noticed a lot of the regulars aren’t posting as much…

Maybe I’m the problem….

I used to lurk a lot more than post, now it’s the other way around,

Then again I used to be able to learn more by reading more than I posted,

Now I’m just defending bad arguments all day,

Its pretty much me and turbo96z28 going around correcting everyone...

Maybe its time to lurk again……This is getting annoying….

I don't post alot, but usually read to keep up with "news".

Hard to find news in all the "opinion" that's there.

I'm still coming here first, then glancing over yonder.

Re: Am I the only one getting burned out reading the new "Camaro/NAIAS" forum?

What do you guys expect? New car info gets released and people shouldn't want to learn about it and talk about it? You can't expect people to know all about it from glancing at a forum for a minute and then not want to talk about it. If anything, that measures the excitement behind it, which IS a good thing.

You get this sort of thing on any forum when something new comes out.

Remember, some of these people haven't been following the "old" 5th gen forum for the past several years...like YOU have. It may not be them that burned you out.

It is definitely tiring trying to keep up...Although it's definetly slowed down compared to where it was right after the pics got out...That was just ridiculous. The difference now is all the people comming in who don't have much an idea of what's going on...It's tiring reading those posts, but it's not like this wasn't expected.

I have followed a bunch of launch product forums.

Every time the forum goes in these steps:

1. Talking about a possible new generation/ or concept vehicle

2. Confirmed rumors of a show car

3. Discussion of rumors go on for about a half year-year.

4. Spy shot(s) of show car surface

5. Discussion of spy shot(s) for a few months (depending on when reveiled)

6. Show car shown

7. Discussion (praising and criticism) on the concept for half year-year

8. Discussion on the "wish list" goes on for about a year until production

9. Production car is shown to public

10. Criticism begins with the "I'd have done this/that different"

10. People talk about seeing the vehicle in person and driving it

11. Complaining about dealer pricing begins

12. The "I love my XXXXX" or "I hate my XXXXX" begins

13. And my favorite, "What changes are they making X years down the road?"

This just adds to the fun of the board!

But just wait and see, this holds true all the time!
