Yeah, they better be careful or they are going to waterdown the name and it will loose credability.

They've already lost credibility with the H2--at least with people who know the H1.

My prediction: the H3 will debut after the H2 fad is beyond the valley of dead. It already seems to be dying in our area. When a 60-unit gated community has four of them, the neighbors start wanting something they haven't seen.

In four years, if they have 1/3 the number of Hummer dealers they have now, I will be VERY suprised.

Quote from the article:

This smaller and less expensive Hummer is actually a derivative of the upcoming Chevrolet Colorado / GMC Canyon mid-size trucks...

Doesn't that fact make it a TrailBlazer/Envoy/Bravada cousin??? Does GM really need another one running around?

Hummer should come out with a new improved big vehicle...

Maybe even a hybrid! I saw this tv show on he government was researching using the big three truck platforms (like your silverados, F series) as light military vehicle duty.. Along with the traditional powered test showoff vehicles, they had electric hybrids..

Hybrids on the battlefield? Well, they had two advantages.. Since they required less fuel, the support they can lug less fuel around.. The neatest thing was when they demo'd stealth mode.. Basically, they shut off the engines and run only on electric... Watching these relatively big trucks roll around a field pratically quiet is pretty neat... Also, it reduces their thermal signature, making them harder to track.. And obviously they are alot quieter in this mode..

Heh, imagine pulling up and leaving an intersection in a huge full sized hybrid hummer in electric stealth mode.. The loudest thing would be the tires rolling on the ground.. Or rolling around in the field or beach in the middle of the night, with the lights off and nightvision on...

Learn how to use the SEARCH button...point, click, type, search, it might seem like a complicated technology at first to a few, but after you get experience w/ it, it becomes a relatively simple and effective tool to use....d!ck...

I don't see how they lost credibilty with the H2 considering it is 2nd to only the H1 in offroad performance (by many accounts, anyway), is more livable for everyday use, and retained the Hummer look...

I think I'd consider the H2 quite a success, actually.

^^^ I agree with Darth Xed. However, making the Hummer any smaller would take away from the Hummer fame of being an over the top OffRoad vehicle. I can't see a Hummer being much smaller then an H2.

However if Hummer can significantly improve upon their vehicles to something revolutionary or even evolutionary, why not??

I do agree that I'd rather have an H1 then an H2, then again I definately don't have 80g's+ for an H1 and not the 55G's for an H2.

I think if Hummer were to make a smaller version, it should compete directly with the Wrangler. A small, no nonsense off road vehicle. Maybe give people more of a choice in that market.
