Probably... It wasn't really a commercial... it was more of an opening to the whole All-Star game... intros of the players mixed in with the cars....

OK folks....

Someone had to tape or TiVo that intro last night....

This gauge cluster REALLY needs to be seen again!!!!!

I'm not kidding... at least I don't think so.

Nope... trust me. It's NOT a current Chevy gauge cluster.

I think this is VERY significant, folks....

Especially with the old 67 commerically shouting "INTRODUCING: *CAMARO* !!!"

BTW: I am claiming "first on the planet" to realize what that was if it turns out to be what I think it is!!

OK...so what did you think of it? It could really be any upcoming car...lots of people are quick to try to attribute anything new to a Camaro. I remember the publicity shot with the Cobalt in the background. Many people claimed that it would make a great Camaro. Hope you're right though!

Beleive me at first I was kind of half joking that it could be a 5th Gen dash... just didn't think they'd throw it out there like that, even for a quick glimpse.... A few things have come to my attention that has changed that "half-joking" part though....

As for what I thought of it.... it screamed "sports car dash".... I really can't see this going into an sedan or anything like that. I thought it looked really nice. I believe the pods were chrome ringed, but it was such a quick glance, it's hard to retain every detail.

It looked sporty and classy and "rich".

Plus the fact that they ONLY showed Corvettes, some classic Bel Air stuff, and the "Introducing Camaro" thing.... it doesn't make sense for them to drop in a future cluster for a Malibu replacement....

Here is my current state of mind:

You sure it just wasn't a shot of a 67-68 dash? They too had deeply tunneled guage pods.....

100% definately not that.

3 pods. White face, modern font gauges....

"3 dimensional" layout.... if you will.... not totally unlike the way the Vibe's pods are set up...

EDIT: I just emailed MLB.com to see if there is a way to get a copy of the intro... I'm not holding my breathe though.

Re: All-Star Game Intro

Here's GM's Allstar game schedule from their website:

http://media.gm.com/servlet/GatewayS...74&docid=16442

Could the dash have possibly been from the new GMT-900 Silverado (SS?) or Trailblazer SS?

It's definately not the TrailBlazer SS.... I checked all the 06 stuff on chevy.com just to be sure.

I suppose it COULD be the GMT-900, but I seriously doubt it. It wasn't a truck dashboard, and from the GMT-900 spy shots we have seen, even from the exterior, you can see a very prominent center-hump that comes up fairly high from the rest of the dash... that wasn't there.

Plus, why show a truck dash in an intro highlighting Corvette, Bel Air, and Camaro?

I'm confident it wasn't the GMT-900 dash.

In fact, I'm going to go waaaay out on a limb.

If someone puts something worthwhile up against me... I might even bet my user account that it was the 5th Gen gauge cluster.... If I'm wrong, I'll delete my User Account! If I'm right... well, someone's gotta give me something... maybe buy me a 5th Gen when it comes out! (Here's a good chance to get rid of me for good... )

Re: All-Star Game Intro

While the introduction was all Chevrolet (as they have secured main sponsorship for the next couple All-Star games) I'd highly doubt a sneak peak at the 5th Gen Camaro (in anyway) was shown in the video.

That was my original thinking too.... that has changed though.

Even if it wasn't a 5th Gen Camaro dash.... it still was a sneak peek of SOMETHING that;s not out yet, so I don't see why it couldn't be a Camaro, ESPECIALLY since they showed the 1st Gen Camaro within seconds of the cluster.

Could it be something from like the SX3 or a European concept?

Just looked for S3X interior pics... can't find one. Doh. I did find this, though, and you can see that "central hump" thing going on... I doubt this would be where the cluster was from.

(Who's the chick?? )

Also, it still wouldnt make sense to put that in with Corvette, Bel Air, and Camaro.... especially anonymously....
