Sadness.

I thought the Corvette was supposed to (finally) get the 6 speed automatic in 2006.

That upgrade was put on hold to make room for the addition of the long awaited GM badge. (doh!)

You're probably right. Seriously though, the tired ol' 4 speed slusher needed to go years ago. It's simply unacceptable for this great new C6 to be saddled with it.

Re: Across the Board 2006 GM vehicle information...

One thing I noticed in this document is that it lists Lordstown, Ohio as the assembly plant for the 2006 Chevy SSR...

Is this an error? I can't believe I haven't heard anything about this if it is true, since Lordstown is the local area plant where I live!

That's the other thing I was going to ask you about. I know they were assembled for a while in Lansing at the GM specialty vehicle shop because of the complex body stampings, but now I figured they would be built alongside Trailblazers and Envoys because they share similar structures....

Ya, I am clueless on this... I am guessing it is an error at this point. Hopefully someone in the know can chime in, otherwise I'll try to get ahold of a few friends at Lordstown to find out.

I just assumed that SSR was still being built at the Lansing Craft Centre...
