6L80E Conversion?
6L80E Conversion?
While not a future vehicle, it is not out yet so I am posting it here. Also I am hoping Fbodfather will see it
. Is GM planning to release a version of the 6L80E specifically for conversions? If not, when will regular replacement transmissions be available? Will GM offer a "swap guide"? I really like that GM offers a LS1 swap guide (PN 88959384), and I know there are many hotrodders out there that would love to have one of the 6spd autos (if we can afford them
).

Re: 6L80E Conversion?
I belive Hot Rod already did a little story on it.
The 6L80E's design is modular, allowing it to be about the size of the 4L60E, and with it having the bolt patter to bolt to an Gen III/IV small block, it could be moddified to fit the Gen I and II's. I also belive that the trans has its own 32bit prossesor, so that it can almost be stand alone, if not, im sure that someone will create a true stand alone system.
