Maybe this will stop some of the bitching about how GM is not putting the 6 speeds in to stuff quick enough.

Other notable additions are 5.3 V8 for the Colorado, Bluetooth optional on most models, and review camera on certain models (large trucks/SUVs).

Nice! The 6-speed was well overdue, but the 6.2L wasn't something I expected to see... especially with the 6.0 being available.
That would be awesome to see the 6.2L w/ 6-speed auto become available on the base model 2wd standard cab truck for a reasonable price much like you can currently order the Tundra and Hemi Ram with their top motor and otherwise lightest/cheapest option packages.
Any ideas in which configs it'll become available? Hopefully not just the crew cab LTZ Silverado or similar...

Well, I guess that the bright side of the huge drop in full-size trucks sales (which may very well be permanent, given what OEMs and suppliers are saying) means that supply constraints on the 6-speed are less of a problem
Seriously, I'm glad to hear that the 6L series continues to proliferate. As fuel prices continue to climb, "best-in-class" fuel economy is no longer going to pull in buyers.

No, the 4L80E is gone from the 1500's.
The 2500 and 3500 have 6spd standard
The 6.2 comes with the 6spd autos.
If you look, 6spd auto is available for everything but Crew Cab?

Good news. Bluetooth all around, back up camera's to keep up with the Dodge and Ford, XM NavTraffic...very good.

Thats awesome....but let me know where you can get a 2009.
So let me get this right, GM had two years on Dodge and Ford on when their new trucks came out, and their just now putting the 6spd in the trucks when the other two bring out their new trucks with 6spds, maybe 5 in Ford's case. Pitiful if you ask me.

No, 6-speeds have been available on the Lincoln Navigator since the 2005MY, the Expedition since the 2007MY, and will be available on the F150 for the 2009MY. The Superduty with the V10 or Powerstroke gets the 5-speed Torqueshift transmission, and I would imagine that the 5.4L Superduty would probably get the 6-speed (not sure if they already get the Torqueshift).
I do not know when/if the Torqueshift is going to 6-speeds.

Forget that... I don't want to have to buy a 35k dollar truck to get that motor... if I did I would have just bought the Sierra Denali a year or more back and gotten the same setup for ~10% more.
Though it does also look like the 6-speed it standard with the 5.3L V8 on the Silverado 1500s..
I might just be reading it all wrong, though.
