As long as it's better than the Mustang trunk. Compared to an F-body, that thing is almost useless! The opening is waaay too small and there isn't any height to the area inside..

I want a real trunk with a fold-down rear seat that doesn't take two people to fold-it-down.

Yeah, me too, I hope they get the gas tank location rearranged to free up the trunk, unlike the GTO..

how about a hatch that looks like a regular trunk. so the window and lid lift up, but when closed, it just looks like a trunk.

Didn't the Monza have a rear hatch that looked like a trunk? As I recall that thing was HEAVY.

I voted hatch...

But give me one that doesn't leak water into my trunk when the hatch is wet

I don't really care one way or the other as long as it still has a bit of the "fastback" design it's always had. Even with the 1st/2nd Gen trunks it had a fastback look. I kinda lean toward the hatchback pulling that off better but really, I don't care as long as it looks good...

I am torn on this issue...

I guess I am happy with either if it looks right.

I like the privacy of a trunk, but I like the look and functionality of a hatch.

I'm in favor of a trunk...

My 3rd and 4th gens had huuuge cargo spaces and that was great. But problems ensued... the shocks would go out, the motor on the 3rd gen went out, both creaked and moaned like a haunted house, the huge glass distorted objects. When I swapped the hatch on the Formula for a T/A unit, I could never get it adjusted just right...etc...

Just give me a pass through trunk with fold down seats and I'm happy.

Don't know if the 4th's had it, but if you wanted the hatch to be more like a trunk and have privacy in a Third, all you had to do was use the cargo cover.

I love the hatch, I can fold down the seats and fit all kinds of crap in there, which is really helpfull in college when you have to use that car for everything. If it does leave, I still give HATS OFF TO THE HATCH!

Yes, but I wasn't speaking about space, just about the look.
